Ah hi Paul I remember your thread :-). I also moved from a silver v8 Audi to the 456 haha. Mine was a d2 S8, which was featured as readers car of the week a while ago - link in profile.

Yes, I really can’t wait, I have 2 boys aged 3 and nearly 6 who I plan on taking everywhere and using the car all year round. This car has had £23k spent on it in the last 800 miles... I’m hoping for £2k a year onwards now fingers crossed

Cheers Jimmy, good to know on the Esso fuel. Hopefully the new rubber will be able to deal with fuel :-).

Thanks also AJ, because of you I didn’t need to pay buyers fees :-)

Hi guys, need some help, fuel pumps aren’t available until next year from Bosch or any usual contacts that Rardleys use.

The Bosch part is - 0 580 464 990

Am I right in thinking it’s the same as is fitted to the Alfa 164?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Thanks for the link, have tried various who are all waiting on Bosch. The factory is shut...

Have an alternative product by Intermotor part number - 38853, which shares the same OEM part number. Any experience with Intermotor anyone?

Thanks guys, have emailed / messaged all these links to check if their stock is on a shelf or back order from Bosch. So far, all from Bosch. Their websites where the parts are identified as US, UK, Latvia, Germany but all on back order. It’s pretty poor as you can pay online and they haven’t got the parts. Worse, the factory that makes them is shut :-(

Yep, trying to get my money back on these:

I think my best option is a UK refurbished unit or different part?

I have emailed and called 20+ companies today... no joy. Half of them are still listing the part as in stock or available on their websites also...

Hi guys thanks for the links, they are Tim Green and Power Sparks. Have messaged them all asking if they actually have the item in stock. All the genuine Bosch ones are on order to a factory that is shut. There appears to be some dodgy copies doing the rounds also. The worst is the companies re-listing adverts and taking customers money for parts they don’t have and can’t get. Covid and Brexit doing wonders for the automotive industry

She is home and been driven 3 times in 1 day including a trip out with the kids, I love this thing

Rardleys have been a pleasure to deal with and a very enjoyable place to visit

Here is some more expensive work carried out 600 miles ago (spot the blue Samco hoses)

Thanks she is getting there, the interior needs some love next, well the dashboard and rear shelf. The stereo has a £300 ish receipt for being repaired but it needs improving for some longer drives, naturally I don’t want to cut holes in anything for bigger speakers

I agree, especially the F355, which has been my favourite Ferrari for a long time. With my sons at their current age, I can’t think when I’d use a 2 seater so this is the ideal for me now. The 993 C2S is also my favourite shape from Porsche, clearly the 90’s got car design right.

It’s funny how tastes change, I remember seeing a Daytona in Maranello’s maybe 25 years ago and didn’t think anything of it. Now the Daytona and Dino I think are stunning. Interesting the Daytona was around £70k and the 456 was over double in the mid-90’s. Remember when F40’s were £180k at the same time?

The Dino pictured next to mine on the previous page had a great story. Owned by a 70+ year old who had been collecting Dino bits for 30 years and now his car could be built. While not numbers matching, everything is new / refurbished as new. Incredible looking thing.

Cheers for the inputs guys

Gorilla - I think I have them, will give that a go and maybe connect up with an extension lead via the windscreen wipers as somebody messaged to me.

Adrian - you’re right it is a bit small, other than starting the car, there isn’t much else for it to do :-). I’m missing some Audi S8 comfort sometimes but otherwise get yourself over to the dark side. Running costs are similar (if you don’t buy one from storage).

QBee - thanks I guess that is similar to what Gorilla Boy suggested looking on google images? Are the Anderson connectors better outdoors?
