Really great work on the ti. Super cool having a 3l in there too, it's such a great engine. You will have some track guys biting at your heels when you come to sell that, for sure.

The Megane 265 is a superb car, so I am not surprised in the slightest that you are drawn to them. The only reason I would chose the BMW over the RS Megane is for the rear wheel drive frolics. I have a 130i at the moment and I have just fitted an LSD insert (£450 all in) and that has increased my driving enjoyment considerably! Maybe it's something to think about?
Thanks for the reply mate. Tbh now ive been driving it and the response its getting also the money ive put into it i think im going to keep and do a few extra things to it. The diff does have a leak on so i was thinking this. Where did you get the diff etc from if you dont mind. Cheers

Great project! Looks brilliant as well in that colour.

Have you considered installing a shorter final drive?

I did this on my 330ci and the 60 - 80mph time drops by over a second, to c.3 seconds. Very noticeable increase in urgency in the mid range.

Seem to recall Gripper doing an LSD and Quaiffe of course.

My Mrs wrote off her 120 recently and I’ve found myself looking at 325ti again, as I’ve had a few and really like them. This is a lovely example.

Needing a good wash to get all the road salt. Driving it this week has made me want to keep it now. So now a list of things ill get done over the course of a year or so hopefully.

Brake refresh, diff rebuild, gearbox oil change, fuel filter, sort out headunit. Suspension bushes and arms, steering components.

Unless it had a 330 diff at conversion time, the 325ti will already have a shorter final drive (3.23) than a manual 330 ( 2.93 )

That’s why they need 2 changes to hit 60 as standard and are a bit livelier in the higher gears than a 330

The U.S. put a 3.07 on the manual ZHP 330s to pep up the acceleration a bit

Plus you can also use the auto box final drives (3.38 and 3.64) on a 330

Smart move given the way values of 325ti have been heading recently.

Also ordered all brackets nuts and bolt for the anti roll bar to freshen it up.

Hopefully get round to giving it a clean over the next week.

Never understood the dislike for these, I like the different looks of a 325ti too. They're definitely going up in price, I was looking at getting one just over a year ago and they seem to have doubled in price since. I went for a 130i in the end though.

Lovely car and really enjoyed reading the journey OP has had with it so far - so thanks for taking the time to share.

Always liked these - just a bit 'left field' and all the more interesting for that.

Would love to know what products the OP has used to get the inside of the wheel arches that clean!!

Thanks! Bilt Hamber is fast becoming a bit of a 'go to' for me - not come across surfex hd - I'll look this one up too.

Spent some time today fitting the scuttle panel and side repeaters. Really freshened it up for small things. Hoppefully can give it a clean tomorrow for better pics.

Another couple of jobs ticked off today apologies for the boring up dates, fuel filter, wiper blades and a clean. Fuel filter was defo due judging by its conditon and the blackey grey fuel that poured out of it. Finally got round to cleaning all the winter grime Off it and top up proection.

Spent my sunday afternoon giving the interior a deep clean and dressing. Havent done this since i did it when i picked the car up. Comes up really well.

Have been ordering parts today so over the next week hopefully be fitting

Oem bmw headunit
Centre console compartment
Rear anti roll bar links bushes and brackets with bolts
Gearbox oil and plugs
Alternator
Aux belt tensioner and belt
X2 fromt calipers
Ebc yellowstuff pads
Disa valve

This should then see me through summer until i can save up again for the next step. Have a few trips planned away in the car cant wait to actually take it for some decent drives.

Looking good, those small details like the scuttle make a big difference in terms of freshening it up.

Things well in motion this week. Rear anti roll bar all completed, disa valve fitted, alternator and tensioner removed and new ones have arrived ready for fitting tomorrow and brakes hopefully too. Heres some pics of the progress.
