Plenty of options out there for decent JDM headers. I think the Tegiwa is a Toda copy- however I refuse to have anything Tegiwa near my car as I don’t rate the company or quality of it’s products.
Tegiwa Toda copy is what it was failing the MOT on. Says it all really

I must say I do like a nice stainless header just for the looks in the engine bay. I'll keep an eye on ebay for a decent brand.
I know Chris already said it, but that really doesn't make sense. The MOT testers won't be measuring your AFR anyway will they? How did you know it was running rich?

Tegiwa sell some good stuff.. and also some copies of proven items. I've had to adapt things to fit before but not had a major failure from anything. Their radiators are as good as mishimoto for example (the brand which gets plenty of praise to say it comes from the same place..)

I thought it was interesting recently that Tegiwa now sell GruppeM gear now after selling copies of the GruppeM intakes for years hehe

Anyway back to the problem itself - I'm fairly confident all B series manifolds are the same - the only difference being the final pipe diameter (2.25 or 2.5")

If you have a Tegiwa Toda Manifold - JDM cat - JDM B pipe, then you should be able to choose between the spoon or OEM backbox and pass emissions - but I feel like that's what you had before, right?

Smells rich, black spark plugs. I'm just going off what Tom at TGM told me as I've not even seen the car for months!

Looks a tidy one. Nice to see one in black as well! Can never decide which looks best between UK and JDM!

Used to have a JDM 96 which had been converted to run an Accord Type R H22A7. Didn't enjoy it though as I couldn't drive it properly due to the fact that the engine didn't really fit with the Integra gearbox, meaning the crank pulley hit the chassis leg when turning right. Had no power steering etc. Don't even think I used a whole tank of fuel before I sold it, it ended up getting stripped for parts and scrapped frown

Would love another, but B18 powered and virtually standard this time like yours! I think they're one of those cars that you could really enjoy as standard, with a few well thought out mods. From that 90s 'peak car' era cloud9

Closest thing to a DC2 I have now:

Aerodeck VTiS, B18 powered (albeit 170bhp) LSD and all that jazz. Doesn't quite handle like an Integra though hehe

Maybe I am confusing you with someone else, but didn't you have an ATR? Did you sell her? Sad times if so (apologies if it's not you! lol)

Nice! Strange choice of engine swap in a DC2, usually people go K20. I don't see the appeal as the B is the more exciting engine but if you want more power it's the way to go.

Yeah that's me, still got two ATRs (just been offered another which I'm considering as it has an ultra-rare leather interior I'd love for mine). I'm in a massive mood with Accords at the minute though for reasons explained in my thread. It's just abandoned at my parents house for now hehe

Yeah, my mate built it, we went halves on a rotten ATR, him having the engine and me taking the rest as spares for mine. Engine was brand new fully rebuilt, it was rapid tbh, way more punchy than a B but as stated it was just impractical and horrible to use. Really would love a nice standard one. Never had a K, love my B and H series engines despite the issues with the H, but would love to K swap something one day just to see how I like it.

Did you see that yellow JDM 98 that sold a day or two ago for £41k in Japan? That's before it's shipped anywhere and taxed upon too...

I was at a track day nearly 10 years ago, I was very young there with my mx5. I saw a dc2 in the paddock (I knew nothing about them at that time) and thought why's he brought that it's not much of a sports car 🤣

He later gave me a white knuckle passenger ride. And yeah..... I'll never forget it.
What a car! I can't see a better affordable car being made ever again. Which is really sad.

In the morning I thought it looked like someone's granma had turned up. In the afternoon I was listening to 9000 rpm while being chucked around bends at such speed, over taking many cars (something I'd not experienced in the mx5 )even as a passenger it was such an exhilarating experience, but the handling and predictability meant I was never scared as I usually am in the passenger seat (great seat)
The Honda Integra could really teach other manufacturers a thing or two about offering an experience to their customers

Had a group of "younger" persons approach me whilst waiting for the fog to lift on a trackday at Caddy.....I was early 50's I had my DC2 and they had a variety of hot hatches........."looks like some fast cars here today so glad we have someone to beat".....never saw them again after the 1st session......I miss my TEG driving

I think some folk genuinely have no idea what a good DC2 is all about.

190hp goes a long long way in such an excellent chassis. The key part nowadays with how they drive is making sure the suspension is fresh. Fresh Bushes/dampers make an incredible difference to how they feel.

Aside from that it’s the dreaded tin worm that needs keeping an eye on...

I didn’t pay much attention to them when they first came out. Even after it came first at EVO Magazine back in the day for the ‘greatest FWD driver’s car’ feature. I thought it’s a bit of a funny looking oddball. Mind you at the time I was living in London and being poor and not had a car.

Years passed, I had a Corrado at the time and some chap at the Corrado forum had a DC2 and he took me out in it. The manic engine and the cornering speed blew me away. A year later I started getting into track days and the Corrado was a bit fragile, so started looking for a change. Shortlist include DC2, the highly rated Impreza RB5 and another FWD icon Clio Trophy...... the DC2 was the cheapest and the other two out of budget so bought the DC2. That was in 2011 and the car cost me £3750.

Still have it now, coming up to 140k miles, engine silky smooth, ditto gearbox. Bodywork rusty and pink though! It’s like an old family pet.

Sorry OP for derailing your thread...... just thought it’s a good place to share story. DC2 are just great car. smile

Absolutely fantastic car. I'd love a type R Integra, especially if it was in as good condition as this one.

It’s funny you should mention the article, as I dug that copy of Evo out the other night to re-read about the 15 cars in the group test. I’ve owned my DC2 for 9 years now.

That’s my friend’s old car, appeared on EVO for two/three features under his ownership. I had a chance to buy it but didn’t as I wanted Milano Red, which now has turned into Milano Pink (TADTS) rolleyes

Guys - sorry to go off topic! Recently picked up a lovely DC2 ITR. Been trying to get on the DC2-ITR forum but it's completely locked down - so much so you can't even get the contact details to message a mod to request registration! Is anyone a member here who could help me out?

Cheers!

Ace. Underestimate a DC2 at your peril I say.

A great chassis & something south of 200hp still goes a very long way on track.

I did a wet day at Combe a while back with a variety of machinery present & nothing passed me all day....
