Was going to make exactly the same suggestion, did similar on a mate's 996 GT2 years ago when we fitted an Exe-TC kit on it and it has been fine ever since
There’s some nice aftermarket options out there for sure, time was a factor but also the angle that a straight link would have run at was not very satisfactory, building in the offset meant the forces were sent straight down the link rather than trying to bend it. Or at least, that’s the theory

Yeah I see what you mean! It shouldn’t cause too much of an issue though. Or at least, that’s the theory
Best thing you can do is try to get the attachment off the strut and onto the lower as it does actually affect the bump steer, but it does look particularly tightly packaged!
There’s improvements available for sure but we have got a load of other stuff higher up the list at the moment so as long as it continues to be reliable it’s staying for a while at least. We’ve three races coming up over the next 7 weeks so it will get well tested .
Ben, see you there!
Ben, see you there!
So Snetterton went much better than Donny, we actually finished the race .
Quali was not bad with 5th on the grid, still not fast enough but closer than last time so going in the right direction.
The start went well again, the gap to the pit wall was a bit tight but I made it through to first and was running around the podium for the first half of the race.
After the pit stops I spent most of my time chasing down an M3 that was the only RWD car in front of me but when the opportunity to make a move came I was possibly a bit to careful in giving the other guy enough room, ran wide and then ran out of talent .
I recovered to the track and ended up in 6th place, 5th in class and 2nd RWD car.
Not much further up the field but a lot of progress and actually a really enjoyable race to drive. I’m still finding things about the car that need improvement and hopefully we’ll be able to try some ideas out next weekend when we race at Cadwell Park.
Caddy should suit the FWD stuff so I’m not expecting too much but it’s always an exciting place to race so we’ll see how it goes!

I haven’t monitored the intake temps but the power seems reasonably consistent over a long run relative to the NA stuff I’m up against so I don’t think it’s a big issue although it must have some effect and we have talked about a bigger cooler which may give more tuning options if we wanted them at a later point.

And great to catch up with Ben for a chat, hope your race went ok?
Nice to meet you Steve and congrats on the race! Looks like it was a bit frustrating for you but good progress all the same.We had a driveshaft break half way through quali that cut our time short, but we still managed to start P15 and finished the race P6/44 so were pretty happy with the result!

Great result I’d say!We had a driveshaft break half way through quali that cut our time short, but we still managed to start P15 and finished the race P6/44 so were pretty happy with the result!
Our race was a lot of fun and a good step forward. It’s a shame I dropped it but it happened because I was making sure I’d given enough space to the other guy and I’m ok with that (for now ).
Well we’re all set for tomorrow at Cadwell Park, did some runs on Wednesday thanks to having a very tolerant boss at Circuit Days who were running at trackday there.
I was supposed to be instructing but fortunately wasn’t too busy so have a reasonable setup dialed in but it’s probably our weakest circuit on the calendar so I’m praying for rain tomorrow to mix things up a bit
If anyone is bored live timing is here - https://www.tsl-timing.com/event/212751
Quali is 10.45, race is the last of the day at 17.25 , they usually stream the commentary for the race on TSL so hopefully we’ll get a mention for doing some good!

Yep, still moving forward with the development of the car .
I wasn’t expecting too much yesterday but we had found some extra pace over testing and landed 100th of a second off the second row of the grid which was a pretty acceptable place to be. We know the car is mega off the line but there is no space at Cadwell and I’ve had a big shunt at a start there before. In fact my track record at Cadwell is pretty decent but I can’t remember a race without any drama, it’s so bad that it’s the one circuit that Mrs H refuses to come along to help at .
Fortunately it wasn’t so bad this time, this was my start -
From there I dropped back behind one of the M3s and the TCR outdragged me but then proceeded to hold me up so I was running in a train with him in front and the orange M3 right behind for a number of laps with only 10ths between us.
As soon as the pitstop window opened I dived in and came out again in clean air so I could get a couple of good laps in before the other guys pitted and sure enough it worked as an undercut and I came back out third in class, 4th overall. With the tow broken I managed to keep a good gap behind me and the M3 in front went off with a damaged splitter bumping me onto the overall podium and 2nd in class.
The last place I expected to get it but our first trophy for IMR .
