Well done, sounds like a good start.

Car reviews tend to compare them to vehicles in the SUV class at twice the price. I wold prefer to buy a pair of 999cc Dusters!

However the real competion at the price is a 107/Aygo, Polo, Lupo etc.

You just get so much more with a Duster, objectively their is no competition.
.
This holder goes on the center vents and is good enough to hols a full size Galaxy Tab with fill Google maps with live Satellite traffic data and music streaming on Android Auto. Even plugs into the radio USB with auto on and off with the ignition key. Bluetooths to the excellent Dacia radio.

Just like my Tesla Model S

Cheers, looks good and hardly any money but looking for something that doesn't involve sticking something on the phone.

I assume it's strong glue. How do you get it off?

I just splashed out on a second hand Galaxy Tab 9 on Ebay. Better if you can get one with a sim card holder. Some models are wireless only. Make sure the seller has reset it from the operating system otherwise you will find it will be locked.

Then buy a pay as you go data sim from Tescos or somewhere and bingo, free sat nav maps and music streaming throug hbluetooth. Make sure you have no data limit on the sim.

I also have my phone connected to the Dacia on blue tooth. Stays in my pocket and runs independently of the Galaxy, although you can configure it however you want, so it connects to the Galaxy which then automatically connects tot the Dacia, so your calls interrupt music streaming when you want.

Finally, I installed Macrodroid on the Galaxy, as it is the only way to make the Galaxy automatically turn on and off when it detects the USB charging voltage from the radio when you turn the ignition on or off. Should be a feature on android, but it isnt .

All these apps are free.

The magnet is a pretty strong adhesive. It will peel off the Galaxy, but only once or twice. The holder goes on and off as many times as you want.

I've ordered one of the dodangs that plugs into the front of the radio, and hooks up to the USB.

Just for my garmin.

I'll advise on the functionality.

Those who have Essential models but would like cruise control will be pleased to know that it’s only the switch that requires changing.

I believe this is the part number:

For real?

So the ability is there?

Reminds of a Sony video camera I had decades ago. Cost £750.

You could unlock the software and upgrade it to the £1000 model.

Well I be.....

ETA

I've just ordered a secondhand switch from a Renault Kadjar. Looks exactly the same as the one in your pic.

£19 on eBay, might as well hehe

My first mod.

Ah, nooo! There was me thinking I was first..

I can’t help myself with tinkering. I’ve only had it 5 days / 224 miles and most of them have been covered by my better half as her car broke on Monday. I can’t see me changing much else though.

You were first. I've only just ordered the switch.

How did you find out about it?

I've just seen a Renault Clio switch on eBay which looks exactly the same but nearly half what I've just paid.

Anyone else want to buy, they are out there.

I just can't believe the method is already in the 'brain' of the car and it just needs a switch change.

Since 07/01/21 I’ve done 3500 miles in mine. Still not used any petrol though! Saved me between £700 and £800 on my previous arrangements.

While waiting for the paperwork for mine to be sorted I was looking around a used higher-spec model which had CC and noticed the steering wheel buttons were the same. The only difference appeared to be this switch was 3-way, the essential model switch is only 2-way (speed limiter or off), so it got me thinking.

It seems Dacia have ensured it doesn’t have CC to encourage people to purchase higher spec models.

I can probably live without cruise, stupid place to put a switch anyway.
I might be interested in one touch windows, a poster above eluded to this mod on his Logan.

The Trafic van I rented had a fairly anonymous rocker switch for the cruise somewhere in the centre of the dash. Other cars I've used have had the cruise controls on the steering wheel or stalk.

The rocker switch by the gear stick turns limiter/cruise system on.

Then it's all from the steering wheel like in most cars.

The limiter thing in mine seems to be a waste of time but did make me wonder that if they had gone to the trouble of having it in the car's system, why not cruise.

That I would find useful, especially in these days of average speed cams.

I await my ordered Renault Kadjar switch with eager anticipation. I've even ordered some plastic trim tools so I hope not to screw up lifting the trim to get at the switch.

Think of the gearstick switch as a safety catch.

As above it was obviously cheaper to do it this way. Turn on/off then use controls already on steering wheel. Did someone allude earlier that it was some sort of EU regs thing having an on/off function? Either way I turn it on and leave it on then operate from the wheel.

Just cleaned it even under the bonnet. What looks like the rocker cover is barely longer than my hand! It’s an amazing little engine. We dreamed of 100bhp from our minis in the early 80’s.

It does zip along when you constantly play with the gears.

I've still only used it on the London commute so far and it does the job perfectly.

The radio lets me walk to the car whilst on my phone and takes over as soon as I turn on the ignition. People on the other end don't even realise. Same when parking up on a call and then leaving the car.

That's me being impressed with the radio which I presume to most of you, must be pretty old school.

I'm coming from a Sony head unit in my old BMW that quite often couldn't find my phone hehe

I’ve got the Comfort which has the screen with Nav,rear camera, etc. It is an LG system and works so much better than the system in our V90 which is nearly £40k list.
