Hi there guys. So I've decided to start my stage 3 project on my Fiesta ST.

I'm sure there's thousands of forums on this very topic but I'd love to interact with other ST owners that are at stage 3 level. The reason for this is I'd like to know what others have done/ achieved with their STs and if they've managed to beat much more expensive cars.

So to begin this stage 3 build I've bought an ITG induction kit along with a Pumaspeed silicon hose. (Sounds really good at low revs as it gives a fluttering sound and at higher revs a big whoosh of induction noise). I've also bought a milltek non-res cat-back with a scorpion sports cat which should be fitted within the next week or so.

The next mod on my list is an intercooler. I had the dilemma of should I buy a much cheaper stage 2 intercooler just for a stage 2 map ( should be good for 240-250 bhp). I have decided I just want to go for an Airtec stage 3 so I don't have to change it by the time I can actually get to stage 3 power. I didn't see the point of getting a stage 2 intercooler to just change it for a stage 3 intercooler later on.

Any advice regarding what my next mods should be would be appreciated. I know I need to get a crossover pipe, an actuator a diverter valve and the actual turbo itself. I am also planning to purchase an LSD and a Pumaspeed big brake kit.

Cheers guys ??

What stage upgrades are you aiming for?

I'm aiming for hopefully 330+bhp with an X47-R turbo and a few other supporting mods like I've listed such as intercooler, exhaust, crossover, intake, actuator, DV etc.

If I find that this power isn't enough I could upgrade to the x58 evo that Pumaspeed now have out. The youtube channel officially gassed used this very turbo and got 360bhp+. With a forged engine and other upgrades such as injectors, fuel pump and a fully built engine, the car can go over 400bhp.

However that is massive money which I just don't have, and I'd rather save it for future cars such as a BMW m135i or m140i.

Thanks

Hi there, the gearbox should be fine. At 360-400 I'd probably upgrade the clutch+flywheel etc but still, I'm not looking at going that power straight away. Some people do experience crunchy gears sometimes with STs but most gearboxes tend to be ok even at bigger power. I hope my gearbox will be fine for now cause I don't have the money haha, just bought a milltek exhaust so funds are definitely lacking at this point.

Thanks

This one has an X-57, the tuners website may list what's needed.

Assume you're all over the STOC site?

Believe it or not I'm on here more than STOC : )

As for the x57 and x57r I was tempted although I heard Pumaspeed either stopped selling that specific turbo or the x58 evo came in to replace it. I could be wrong I'm just going on what I've read from others : ) Really wouldn't mind an x57 if I could find one

Here's a pic of the ITG and Pumaspeed hose fitted, the actual filter itself sits under the headlight in order to prevent heat soaking. In future I may take out the bottom fog light in order to help air flow to the actual filter

This is the new scorpion sports cat which will be going on the car as soon as possible. It will hopefully match up with my milltek non-res exhaust. I'm not going for anything stupid loud just something which is less restrictive and a more sporty tone over stock. If I find this exhaust system doesn't satisfy me, I will change for a Cobra non-res system which is known for being the loudest system for a Fiesta ( bar a de-catted KMS)

Stick to stage 1 remap, and fit some sticky tyres and a LSD.

I'm going to skip stage 1 and go straight to stage 2 and see how I feel. When at stage 2 I'll be getting a few bits together like LSD, actuator etc. As for tires I'm currently running michelin super sports on the front and I would hope to change to Nankang NS2R tires, apparently very good when warm but in the wet, could be tricky.

Reading with interest, my son will be taking my M135i back to Scotland soon and leaving me his ST, I have had some epic drives in it a and though the chassis just gets better the fast you go, it is crying out for more power, not ridiculous levels but I reckon a well sorted 250 to 300 bhp FST would be about the best drivers car in that price range.

Despite the BMW being a lot faster I reckon I cover ground faster in the Fiesta, I am not driving god but I can fling a car about and it is compatible, the BMW is like driving through goggle smeared with Vaseline despite being more powerful.

Half tempted to buy one for myself and mod the tits off it, awesome motor if you dont have to do mega miles, or are young and happy to endure biggrin

Hi there,

Yes they definitely are awesome little cars, especially for the money. I agree they could do with a bit more power, with my Dad having a MK3 Focus RS I would love to have something that could keep up on a roll : D

As for the M135i I was looking at one before I got the ST but being 20 years old I just couldn't justify the possible running costs and the higher price of the car. I will definitely be looking at upgrading to either an M135i/M140i or a Golf R after I'm done with this little project : )

For me the Fiesta is perfect at the moment, it's small, relatively economical ( if you want it to be) and it is just so much fun, which is what I'm looking for in a car at the moment.

Thanks for reading as it's nice to hear from others that also have driven an ST and know how awesome they really are : )
