What can we do you our ST for a grand or so ?
£250 for a intercooler, £400 for a remap and £150 for an induction kit, would that give what 250 ish bhp ? already has the Mountune exhaust.
its generally got enough for the lanes and B roads, but get it onto A roads and motorways, it runs out of puff.
And, every bugger wants to race ST's
I think you'll be amazed how different an ST feels with 240bhp. Definitely starts properly moving despite the fact 240bhp isn't a massive number in terms of how powerful some hot hatches are now e.g A45s with 400bhp. But yes, as long as your exhaust, intake and intercooler are upgraded you'll be good to go. Depending on if you want your parts brand new or used, some people with financed STs take parts off and sell them on cheap on the fiesta facebook pages if you have a quick search, always things on there £250 for a intercooler, £400 for a remap and £150 for an induction kit, would that give what 250 ish bhp ? already has the Mountune exhaust.

It’s funny how certain cars people seem to want to race. My old Civic Type R (EP3) was the same, especially diesels always fancied their chances because of the torque! I think people always fancy their chances if they don’t think your car isn’t too powerful which makes it even more fun if the car is tuned and can disappear.
Did you ever surprise anyone with your EP3? I remember being in my old Zetec S a few months ago, and an EP3 passed me like I wasn't even moving, shocked me how fast they can be when in vtec Dylanaledhall said:

With it being my sons, obviously he is keen if I spend a few quid on it but it cuts into my car budget for later in the year, might go halves.
Will have a look on the groups and see if there is anything.

Looks good, I would have to have a stealth one though, but I am old. A Fiesta ST is tragic enough at 50
I sort of wanted a half and half. I could have gotten a fully silver intercooler with a logo but I agreed with my girlfriend that the silver one can make the front look a bit messy, we both much preferred the look of just the logo. I think you can get most ST stage 3 intercoolers fully black without a logo so nobody would suspect a thing mooseracer said:
Oh! I'm in the tragic club then ??
I don't think it's tragic at all, I'm really happy people of all ages are enjoying their STs. Admittedly, they're mostly owned by younger idiots like me which can ruin the image slightly, which is why most mature individuals will go for a Golf R or something, but it doesn't mean people from every age group can't enjoy the ST for what it is I quite like that intercooler, not sure if I fall into the old farts club at 41 but if I do I don’t care! Lol
One thing I have noticed that at least half the ST’s I see in my town are driven by older guys (not seen any ladies driving them yet but I’m sure they are out there)
Without trying to derail your thread, today was the first time I got to really drive mine properly - dry roads, not too cold. Down my favourite B roads it’s an absolute weapon, so much fun. Couldn’t stop grinning! The limiter in first and second gear is annoying though, I don’t think it will be long and I’ll be going stage 2. Sports cat, milltek exhaust, intercooler and remap.

I think despite the image, they are a car that appeals to a lot of people. I live in an area in South Wales called Bridgend and most of the STs I see are driven by lads my age. I do however know of some girls that have STs too which is really nice to see.One thing I have noticed that at least half the ST’s I see in my town are driven by older guys (not seen any ladies driving them yet but I’m sure they are out there)

Stage 2 is how the ST should have left the factory in my opinion, plenty of power to get the car moving but maintaining drivability. I think if you want a nicer tone but not a stupid loud exhaust then the Milltek is really nice. Scorpion is a bit louder but still easy to live with. The cobra I hear is very loud so that's a system you only really want if you're wanting noise. I'd definitely go with an ITG intake if you can, they can be pricey but most people on the forums say it's the best intake for an ST it's just fitting is a bit of a faff since the headlight needs to come out etc but it shouldn't take more than half an hour to do. As for intercooler if you're not planning on going further than stage 2 just buy a stage 2 intercooler which can be had from £250 for a very decent one. I got a stage 3 one just because I'm hoping to go bigger power anyway. Then mapping there's loads to choose from, main tunes being Revo, Pumaspeed and Collins ( probably a few more) your local tuner is most likely to have Revo software so you'd probably see a healthy 230-240bhp hopefully
Since going stage 2 I haven't had the chance to really drive it because of this awful weather we've been having but I've got an essential journey to make tomorrow so I may get to stretch it's legs on the way hopefully

Yeah Milltek is on the cards for the exhaust, I’ll go with them for the sports cat too. In my opinion the standard exhaust is far too quiet, and although I don’t want it too loud a few burbles and discreet pops every now and again would be nice.
Can I ask what tyre pressures you are running? I’ve tried the recommended 36f 26r but it just feels too wayward for me, tramlining all over the place once you get past 60mph ish on certain roads. I dropped the fronts to 33 and it feels much more planted.

Milltek definitely makes some nice burbles Can I ask what tyre pressures you are running? I’ve tried the recommended 36f 26r but it just feels too wayward for me, tramlining all over the place once you get past 60mph ish on certain roads. I dropped the fronts to 33 and it feels much more planted.
As for tire pressure I'm really sorry have no idea .Since I've only recently put the new michelins on because I shredded my last tire on the way home one day, it will probably be whatever the advised pressure would be when they fitted the tire. To me feels ok though, so as long as you've found a tire pressure you like I'd stick to it
Quick little video of how the overrun sounds from inside the car. I understand this is very marmite, I've only done it because the Milltek is a quiet system so I wanted something to compensate for that. Sound really good in person and very good for annoying absolutely everyone. Let me know what you think

Those pops are quite loud aren’t they!! What map are you running?
Yeah the pops are really loud to be fair, it's basically just a Collins CP2E map with overrun added on. Didn't expect the pops to be that loud, however it is being amplified by the fact this video was done in a carpark Gassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
