On the pops and bangs topic is it mapped such that it only does it if you go over 5000rpm then lift off or does it do it every time you lift off from even moderate revs? Is it on a switch so you can turn it on or off? I think sabre used to do a switched version on the MK1 RSs.

Finally does it do any damage to the turbo or cat over time? I am guessing the additional fuel is igniting as it hits the turbine?

Those pops are quite loud aren’t they!! What map are you running?
Yeah the pops are really loud to be fair, it's basically just a Collins CP2E map with overrun added on. Didn't expect the pops to be that loud, however it is being amplified by the fact this video was done in a carpark smile
Reminded me of this old film.....

Can you turn it off ? apart from like minded enthusiasts everyone else thinks "Look at that tit" or "Is that car broken"

It's every time I let off at 5000 it will let off pops but does a lot more under load than just sat stationary.
There's no doubt it's doing the car's health any favours, the first thing I'd imagine it affecting will be the cat. As for the turbo anyone running stage 2 power is at the limit of the standard turbo so it's always good practice to take extra care and properly warm up and cool down the car after every drive ( so should anyone who cares about their car's health obviously). But like I've said, if I find it irritating I can just ask my tuner to take the overrun off but I'm not going to lie I'm enjoying it a lot at the moment, brings out my inner chav smile

Hahaha I see why it reminds you of that biggrin

I have to be at over 5000rpm for any pops at all so day-to-day driving it's basically non-existent. So it will only ever happen if I'm high in the revs. I haven't had the chance to stretch it to see if I can get a bang on a gear change at full throttle yet but I'm going back to Performance Tuning SW on Thursday because I have a front splitter for the car I need to be fitted. I'll try and see if I can stretch the car a bit when I go up there smile

I think so, I may do mine at about 70-80k ( my car has just ticked over 60k) just to be safe but that's on my list over the next few years smile

So guys I'm getting the splitter fitted tomorrow, hopefully it should give the front end a bit more aggression. I am wanting some TRC eyelids and I would adore some bonnet vents ( more for heat management over the chavvy look). After the splitter gets fitted I will be looking at getting some TRC side skirt extensions and rear spats to finish off the external look. As for the spoiler / rear wing I am yet unsure what to do. I've seen some different extensions and risers but can't decide which looks best. I just want the wing to be extended to finish off the rear of the car because I find the rear of the ST quite bland compared to the rest of the car. I'll let you guys know what I go with closer to the time, or if anyone can recommend the next extensions or risers for the rear wing please let me know, would be greatly appreciated biggrin

So here's how the maxton splitter looks, going to have to be really careful because it's deceivingly low on the front now. However, definitely worth it for the added aggression smile

I'm so thankful that I haven't met a speed bump with the splitter on yet biggrin I really did fancy a focus ST 2.5 but I just couldn't justify the fuel

Really fancying one of these gauges that operate from the OBD, apparently they can show you a host of information. Just wanted to know if anyone had used or has anything similar. Thanks smile

Looks good, I would have to have a stealth one though, but I am old. A Fiesta ST is tragic enough at 50 biggrin
Oh! I'm in the tragic club then ??
Me too, then. I bought a new ST2 in 2014 and I still enjoy driving it.
It only has 64,000km on the clock after 7 years.

(My daughter's ex is 19 and he has one! laugh )

I think it's a car that appeals to loads of people, which I think is a major selling point biggrin

Regarding the guages, I just use an app on my phone (OBD fusion) that works really well.
Random question if I may, what tyres are you using and do you like them? I’ve got Pirelli p zero neros on the front and Bridgestone potenza on the back and I’m not impressed with them in the wet and cold. Mismatched tyres are never great im sure but the Pirelli’s in particular feel crap, so I’m looking at getting a new matched set. PS4’s seem to be the favourite but there aren’t any around.

I'm running PS4's on the front and no idea what's on the rear. I keep forgetting to check. Last month I completely shredded a tire on the way home so found it a great excuse to get the fronts changed. I can't really comment on how they felt in comparison to the old tires cause I've not really had chance to properly push the tires or the car to the limit ( being cold and icy etc). I would recommend black circles , just type in your reg and all available tires should come up. I hear the pirelli aren't amazing but if you're only doing short journeys or mostly motorway miles I'm sure they'll do.

But I'd definitely recommend the PS4 tires. I may go to Nankang NS2R tires in future unless I'm advised otherwise, apparently they're a good tire to be running as well.
