So the ST has gone, but didn't go how I expected it to. To make a long story short it got stolen overnight while I was staying at my partner's house.

btw for anyone reading the thread curious about the BCs - you’ll see above i was already happy with them, but i realised after a few hundred miles they’d really settled in and improved further.

That sucks.

How long has it been gone? Long enough for insurance to pay out?
Chance of recovery?
It got stolen in the early hours of the morning on the 16th of June (neighbors said they heard an alarm going off at around 4). Insurance have paid out, value wasn't too far off what I was expecting. Even if the car was recovered, I wouldn't want it back. You don't know how much it's been abused frown It's a big shame but unfortunately there are some scummy individuals around

Cheers mate, I am gutted to be fair but given the fact it was for sale was making me realise I had come to terms with the fact the car was going to be going anyway. Me, family and insurance are all in agreement someone must have seen the advert and must have just been going up and down every street to find it. Unless it literally was an opportunist because I've owned the car for 3 years and lived at this address for 1.5 years and not a single issue. Not too sure.

But there we are, sometimes things like this happen. It's allowed me focus on the new project though smile

So here's the replacement, an M135i. Spec was good, price was good so couldn't really say no. The only annoying part was the 4 hour trip up to go and get it and the 4 hour trip back home. Drives really well but I'm actually surprised by how "torquey" it feels. Would like to get it on the rollers at some point because it feels very aggressive. But I'm happy with it can't wait to spend more time with it smile

Looks like mine, just with 2 fewer doors! 2014 plate as well so probably will be an EWG model therefore it will remap better than the earlier PWG ones (if it hasn't already been, of course).

Feels fairly nifty to me, having said that, I've been stuck in a 2005 320d since the ST went so this is a bit different to say the least smile

How are you finding it vs your Fiesta early doors?

It's very different, in some ways I'd say both cars are incomparable due to how different they are. The only similarities are they're both 3 doors and they're both hot hatches but that's where the similarities end biggrin

The ST definitely felt lighter on it's toes but that's a given. I also much preferred the recaro seats in the fiesta.

The 135 is definitely more refined though and not to mention that thumping engine. As I've said previously I can't quite believe the pace of it for a standard car. It's quite exciting to be honest.

I'm definitely going to miss the ST, on some of my favorite back roads in know the 135 won't be able to hold a candle to the ST in terms of handling but I'm doing quite a bit of motorway driving at the minute and I definitely think this is better for long distance. Plus the girlfriend much prefers the Beemer to the fiesta so that's pretty much the line in the sand biggrin
