Great thread, thoroughly enjoyed reading through your journey with it.

I picked up my 2005 S in July and have become very attached, they are such a great fun car to drive. I’ve also got the Top Gear exhaust added which is amazing sounding.

Look forward to more updates and here’s a cheeky pic of mine.

You’re cheeky pic is nudging me even closer to making yet another irresponsible purchase in the shape of 19” lobster Claws, car looks fantastic!!!

Woah, I’ve done 10x that since buying mines in last may! Makes me think how much I’ve managed to squeeze in.

The exhaust studs are such a b*****rd, glad I finally got mines sorted with the new exhaust.

Where /how are you noticing the leak out of curiosity?
I think I have done about 4K miles In the 3 years I’ve had mine laugh it’s coming in from somewhere on the drivers side, it’s only a little dribble but enough to soak the carpet when we had that storm. It’s following a pipe into the cabin but I have no idea on how it’s getting in. As we are sharing pics here is mine,

Now that looks awesome! Also looks immaculate!

If it’s drivers side I’d want to say either the door membrane, or the drain holes which sit under the roof (there’s a couple very helpful vids on YouTube for a DIY on clearing drains.

There are also a couple of drains under the battery/misc covers below the scuffle panel, and they can be prone to blocking too (mines were pretty bad, with leaves etc) which could be the cause of bad enough I guess.

Either way if it’s not causing you much bother at the moment, it can always be looked at later smile

The Lobster Claws were a must have for me, I then had them refurbed in Porsche Platinum with gloss finish, new OEM colour crest centres and MPS4S. Thoroughly also recommend the H&R lowering springs makes the car look how it should from factory.

Thanks mate, I’ve cleared all the drains out and cleaned all the scuttle and it’s not that, it’s coming from behind the dash at the top so can’t be the door or rear drains, the water is dribbling down where the clutch pedal is. I keep a towel in there and change it every day if it’s raining atm laugh

I’ve been debating the lowering springs for absolutely ages, what did you do setup wise, in terms of alignment, because your car sits very well.
I’ve got a garage in mind with a good alignment rack so that’s no bother.

I’m going to have to check mines now and see if I’ve got something similar 😂

If you find you do and locate the leak please let me know. It’s getting depressing.

Absolutely; it’ll need a wash so that’s probably the best way to replicate it, I’ll make sure to let you know smile

I’ll be 100% honest I asked my specialist to give me a fast road/occasional track day set up, unfortunately I don’t know the settings used. That said the car is now incredibly responsive but still very neutral feeling in the bends, feels great.

Also had a few other bits fitted I.e. new top mounts, drop links, tie rod ends, inner steering arms. Shocks been replaced within last 5 years but will probably move across to coilovers at some point next year.

Aesthetically I am also running 7mm front and 15mm rear spacers, which again helps the wheels fill the arches a little better without looking obviously modded - again recommended.

Yours sits really well on the road, The spacers really fill the arches out.

Thanks!! I’ll be going for something similar then, as said yours looks fantastic on the road!

New year new motivation right?

Before going back to the office I managed to go get the door handles off the car. Very year, just one screw holds them in place. Pull the handle back as if you’re opening the door, hold it there and you’ll see your screw. Think it’s either a T20 or T25, memory fails me.

They’ve seen heavy use over the years, suspect a previous owner wore a ring on their finger they used to operate the door pull so it was looking rough. Picked up some arctic or polar silver spray paint (again, memory fails me and I can’t check as it’s not at the house)

Sanded them down, primed them.

Then colour followed by clear. They look pretty decent I think, apart from I think they’re a touch too dark.

Boxster is booked in for its MOT next week so will see how that goes.

Long shot but I have a set of winter tyres I no longer require, selling for £500 but will happily give someone on here a very good price. Fresh refurb in 2021, tyres have tread and will pass an MOT but are a bit old. Will also chuck in the centre caps.
They’ll fit any 987.1 or 987.2, but also the 986’s. Believe the VW scene are partial to set of Porsche alloys as well.

Noooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

Bought the 18" Cayman alloys below and fitted identical winter tyres (slightly used) a couple of months ago, cost about the same as yours but yours are much nicer. I thought I'd got a good deal.

Damn! They’d have really suited your car, great on silver looks fantastic on these! If you do decide you’d like them, although you already have a set, you’re more than welcome to them. As I said, I’d sort out a good price smile

I did almost buy a set of the Cayman Alloys too, but bought these instead! Both look good imo!

MOT passed!

Brake pipes were the only advisory, will look to get them done end of year as they did say they really aren’t too bad.
Will probably put new discs and pads on it shortly too. Also ordered some 20mm lowering springs so it no longer sits as high.

My lucky find alloy wheels have turned out beautifully with a refurb. Fresh rubber (Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2’s) and a few coats of wheel wax to the alloys, and they are good to go!

A few days off work so a roadtrip was called for.
Started leaving for Braemar via Ballater. Breakfast at the Fife Arms, then off up Glenshee, and from there over to Pitlochery and then from there, over past Aberfeldy, across further to the A82, over to Fort William, then to Aviemore abs over the lecht, back into Ballater and then home. 360 flawless miles from the Boxster.

I did manage to cancel a pheasants life subscription though. Pulled over because I hit it with the front drivers side, and thought it might be stuck in the vent. Turns out it wasn’t, but it did take out my fog light bulb.
Or so I thought.
Replaced the bulb, and still have no light. A bit stumped now, as the car recognizes there is a bulb out. Any suggestions as to what it could be are very welcome.
