Cascade Indigo 4.0 Tuscan Mk1
Discussion
Car is getting well used! 700 miles in three weeks. Might need to up my miles on my insurance! And buy some shares in Shell...no idea on mpg, but put three and a half tanks of v power in at 142.9p a litre...
Went to a nature reserve today and car manged just fine along a couple of miles of pretty rough roads, albeit slowly!
Good trip out to Str8Six yesterday to get the door electrics sorted and get the scratches sorted. Polished out, great result. Though I have another few stone chips appeared, seems unavoidable if you spent time in and around London in it...
On the way home I got caught in TORRENTIAL rain on the M25. Was pretty nerve wracking but the car feels sure footed and safe even in the wet (at sensible speeds and driven like a gran). I haven't had any brown trousers moments yet, and I think you'd have to be driving like a berk to lose it! Chatting to Str8six the suggestion is different cars can drive very differently- a good car is great, a bad car can be lethal. They say they get cars in their techs refuse to drive because they're so bad . Fortunately I seem to have a good one!
Even practical enough for a trip to tesco for the weekly shop!

Away for the week with my folks in their MX5. Forecast to rain all week. Was pondering taking the 75 but took the Tuscan because life is short. Quite a few miles in and it is performing flawlessly. 2500 miles ish so far and no mechanical problems at all. Touch wood..
Did get caught out in a thunderstorm with the roof off today...
My parents enjoyed laughing at my misfortune when they popped their roof up in seconds...
Also learned the tuscan is not entirely waterproof! Drips in a little at the front of the doors. I think they all do that...

Oh no! First RAC call out ...
Fortunately, for something minor and stupid - left my lights on and needed a jump.
I did have my cables with me, but thought the front wheel needed to be off to access battery to jump it. Only after the mechanic had the wheel off (after struggling to get his jack under the car - needed to push it onto a ramp) did we realise the anderson connector was accessible from under the car. Whoops...
Oops, but easily done. You may want to consider this mod:

Great idea, thank you. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
How’s it all going OP?
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, dare I ask what your running costs have been over the first 6 months?
A pending house move means I’ll finally have the space for a Trev alongside my daily, and I’m desperately hoping that can be a Tuscan. Fair to say I check various car selling sites multiple times a day!

Can't speak for the OP but we are 15 months into Tuscan ownership, its just passed its second MOT without issue and we've had total costs to date of a £2k big service and inspection after purchase (factored into purchase price) then just £250 in the 15 months since. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, dare I ask what your running costs have been over the first 6 months?

The £2k big service was cheaper than expected and we got the car for £23k, down from £26.5k asking, so pretty happy!

No wonder you’re happy: that sounds encouraging! Also, yours is a beautiful colour!
I like the look of this one, which claims a 2019 rebuild:

My only concerns are 1) it’s a private sale, so no comeback if things go south; and 2) I don’t like how the spoiler and rear diffuser ruin the curves of the Tuscan shape (all subjective, of course).

My running costs have been zero other than a lot of fuel, tax and insurance (though i do have a warranty)! Approaching 4000 miles in and no problems whatsoever (touch wood) other than dodgy door electrics that were not working properly on the collection day and were quickly sorted by the selling dealer. So find a good one and it might not be too scary (again, touch wood...). It's such a fun car, i love it.
