And finally, to show it's not just been all work making Jack a dull boy...a photo of the Spider with some pistonhead friends...and yes, the cabin is a bit leaky in wet weather lol.

A cheeky trip to Castle Combe with 114 miles clocked up on the circuit.
I had the skinny tyres on, so cornering speeds were a bit lower than last year, but a LOT of fun.
A really nice event organised by the TR Register, £130 for the day for pre-1984 classics. Friendly marshals and the café does a decent bacon roll for breakfast and tuna salad at lunch.

After that an overnight stay near Monmouth, then a trip via some very quiet B (B4518 from Llanidloes was cool) and unclassified roads to Bala for lunch, a quick call on my sister near Oswestry, then a blat back down the M40 (that is an old fashioned motorway for cruising speed!) back to east Kent...where the M2 was shut so had to trudge through Sittingbourne etc., with everyone else...a fair amount of driving for one day, but the Spider does it all with aplomb.

Careful - I received a nice NIP from the Easter bank holiday for 79mph on the M40…
79mph? Right on the cusp. I remember the days when traffic cops wouldn't bat an eyelid at drivers doing around 80mph if they were driving responsibly. I was doing 80-85mph most of the way as I wanted to get home, didn't see any camera vans, but yeah, I guess if one travels at speeds exceeding 75mph it's asking for it, which is what I stick to on the M25, although any combination of three or four lanes of traffic bumbling along at 60-65mph seem the order of the day now on the M25 no matter how busy the traffic.
