The deal is done. I will shortly be replacing my E46 330d with this:

2010, 2 owners, 90ish k miles, fsh (main dealer/me/friend’s garage). It won’t get extensive modifications like the E46, just some suspension improvements to improve the ride quality and body control. More details to follow post collection.

That looks lovely.

The E9x cars in M sport trim have aged really well, particularly the touring. I really wanted one but the ones available at then time we’re all dogs so I ended up with a saloon.

Looks lovely. I'm not usually a fan of grey cars but I think suits the E91 perfectly, probably one of the best colours available.

Good work, Helix. Almost as if you like the M57 engine. wink

What’s the spec list like?

You need the best upgrade for the E90 fitted:

Who’d have thought I was an M57 fan? I have a set of B8s ready to go, built up now with new top mounts and new standard length Sachs springs:

The spec’s good. Later nav, adaptive Xenons, heated half electric seats.

It’s getting M3 rear arms and M3 front strut brace. I like the M3 brace as it’s shiny and I hate the factory E91 brace. This is due to the need to replace the stretch bolts whenever it’s removed.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on all of these mods; they could be in my future. Please keep us updated.

Where do you get the brace without paying an arm and a leg?

I’ll update in due course. I’ve found with B8s before that the fronts give a huge increase in ride quality due to the internal bump stops.

I’ll agree with you whole heartedly with that. The ride quality was massively improved when I carried out this mod to my E90. The car breathed with the road. Lovely car you have there. I seriously looked at these before getting my E90 330d but couldn’t stretch to it back then.

Good lad. Nice spec, and on proper suspension soon enough, too. I might get an M3 bar too. The normal one is fugly.

Must resist modifying.....

I see the roof rails are higher and were changed for flush ones on later models. It seems mine is on the changeover period. Does anyone have a later E91 with the flush ones for a comparison pic?
