Out with the new and in with the old; my 130i LE
Discussion
Shame to see it go but I'm sure its successor will be lavished with the same attention to detail
I'd have loved a 130i but unfortunately it's just too small which is why I have an E91 330i Touring. The E91 is fine for what it is, but it never really feels that involving despite being an M-Sport and manual, and I think a 130i would be far better in that regard.

Exactly how it went with my E39 touring pal; contacted via here and it went from there. Came to view it, paid for it and drove home in it...
Onto new things now Looking forward to the new Rides thread
I’m glad it’s gone to another enthusiast and it was nice to be able to move it on without needing to brave the cesspit of used car sales via autotrader and eBay.Exactly how it went with my E39 touring pal; contacted via here and it went from there. The new car has been paid for today and is inbound tomorrow afternoon. I’ll probably start a new thread today.

They’re dinky and it’s not helped by my other half having a 125i cab. The replacement isn’t as practical as an E91 but it’s bigger inside and will be nice for me commuting again and banging out some work mileage.I'd have loved a 130i but unfortunately it's just too small which is why I have an E91 330i Touring. Agree with this 150% pal... That's why I wanted my touring to go to another fellow enthusiast that knows these types of cars and understands the work/maintenance that goes into them; rather than 'Bob from Facebook that says the cars only worth 1/3 of the asking price, becoz innit...'
Too right. It was quite a hard car to price….there is on LE that was a chunk more expensive and another loads cheaper but it was a bit of a nail looking at the ad, but people will still see that as a benchmark.
People on the FB group seem to think they’re all worth about 10p, so I didn’t even bother listing it there.
The new owner has taken it straight in for an MOT (it was due at the end of next month). It flew through last year so hopefully today will be the same.
It is great to hear that your selling process was nice and easy and that it has gone to someone who will look after it. Your 130i always looked lovely from your photos, and I loved the little details and touches that you made to it.
The 130i is a unique car in many ways, and I've always liked the bigger engine in a smaller car combo.
I'm really looking forward to following your adventures with the incoming 335i now though.

All along the lines of 'I've just bought one as good as that for less than half you're asking' bullsh** etc... Aye ok; not that mine was one of one in this country and nigh on immaculate with no corrosion whatsoever... And massively looked after!
Comparing apples to ping pong balls really

Yup; you can guess all the ste that I saw ref my E39 touring and the price I was asking for it; I ended up deleting/banning most of the knobbers on FB in the E39 Touring group because of that; handy when you're a mod too!

Yet those same people get very protective when their stuff for sale is critiqued! All along the lines of 'I've just bought one as good as that for less than half you're asking' bullsh** etc... Thanks for taking us on your journey with you Sam, have really enjoyed following this thread and look forward to the next.
+1Its been really great following this and Sam's attention to detail has been amazing. I also learned some stuff along the way that i can and could be applying to my cars in terms of upgrades and things that could and should be done.
Loving the new 335i thread already and a couple of things there already have piqued my interest (for example rewiring the older type paddles to the newer type left and right, as my Z4C has that older format!)
Great work Sam!
For anyone who hasnt picked up on it, Sam's 335i thread is here...

Thanks Ben. It was a cracking wee car that I'm going to miss but am glad that I owned for a while.Deep Thought said:

Thanks. I have enjoyed getting stuck in myself having never really done so in the past (thank god for You Tube ). Swapping the wires around on the paddles makes sense because they then work like modern ones which I'm far more used to.Its been really great following this and Sam's attention to detail has been amazing.
