Recovery Required? Range Rover Vogue TDV8
Discussion
An unexpected car has joined the fleet, as the CL leaves (sob).
I got a message asking would I be interested in taking this Range Rover as part ex against my CL... On the whole a good car with reciepts for some serious money spent, including 2x new turbos @ £3.5k!
Love the comfy armchair feeling! TDV8 3.6 isn't bad for a diesel... Plenty of low down torque, slow though.
The car has 2010+ lights and bumpers fitted, recent Pirreli M&S Tyres all round.
I will see how I take to it (always wanted a RR Vogue), if it stays, the X350 will be sold.

Started to consider one of these instead of going again on a new PCH deal early next year, will follow its progress with interest
Just done this very thing.Sent back my PCP'd X5, was able to hand it back with no penalty thankfully.
I bought a 2010 3.6 TDV8 Vogue SE.
Its slow, but does the job and I actually don't mind wafting about!!
Had my first major issue with the RR this week- loss of power and black smoke. Sure enough one of the IC hoses had split...
Replacements fitted in minutes- both sides
Boost restored and running nicely again. Very tempted to do a stage 1 remap from 270bhp to 320bhp, just to give it a bit more of a kick. EGR delete at the same time.
Averaging around real 26mpg daily driving, which I feel is decent for the type of journeys.
I have given the car a small OEM exterior makeover. The grille surround has been painted gloss black and side vents body colour as per MY2012. A bargain of the century set of nearly new L405 21" wheels fitted too. Looking more the way I want it, not bad for a relatively cheap car.
Gave the interior/exterior a clean. Interior is excellent, bar some cracks on driver's bolster.

I’ve had a couple of these, fantastic car. Last one I sold having covered 147k miles, no issues other than some suspension bushes around 100k, never broke down, no problems. Currently driving the sport version having done 50k in it again no issues. Don’t know what to replace it with other than another one. They are a nice place to be.
My previous main daily was one of these. Finally moved it on when it got to about 125k miles. Lovely all round car, it eventually ousted my X358 of the time to be the daily.
You've had the turbos done so that's the main issued they suffer from out of the way. EGRs and alternator are the other standard issues. Check for rust in the tail gate and just infront of the rear wheels where the rear doors close.
Other than that pretty bullet proof. I had mine for about 3 years and only moved it on because I got a bit fed up with the slight turbo pause/lag when taking off from stand still.
Such a great car I replaced it with another one, albeit the 5.0 S/C. I've had that for 5 years now and still have no great plans to replace it with anything.

You may recall we exchanged a few posts regarding our respective CL's ..> We also have have one of these same model same year and in the same colour, though we have the ivory/ piano black accent interior...
Welcome to CL levels of servicing costs... but if you can get them in a steady state they are brilliant.
No not conventionally fast, but they will go anywhere in any condition. Though I do think for the size and brick like aerodynamics that V8 pulls prettty well.
I have contemplating an upgrade to the L405, probably a 5.0l V8 petrol.. however I think this L322 shape and luxury/ utility is a classic so remain reluctant to change.

Looks like one of the lower boot flap stays has failed / stretched
Worth replacing to not stress the hinges
£10-£20 for none OEM

Yes a L405 would be my prefered car if I had the money. I did consider one when I sold my M6. The L322 does the balance of luxury and utility so well as you say.
