Are you manual gearbox? I'm amazed you are getting no issues with a standard clutch if so!

I think that is a real sweet spot for spec on one of these, makes it (I expect) into the car it should have been, and then some.

Very nice... and 3 door/manual/petrol is always top of my search list so you're definitely not alone there! Mate of mine just got an M2 so now I'm back searching BMW - Though couldn't stretch to a proper M car unfortunately.

Lovely cars, let down by the standard dampers. With the Birds mods, I can only imagine how well they drive, let alone with a chunk more power.

Weird for me seeing that Birds building. I worked in there for 7 years in the 90s/00s when it was occupied by a software company. biggrin

That time of year again!

The 140 has been with me for 3 years now and just been through the MOT. A slightly annoying advisory for light misting of oil on one of the rear Brid's shocks and a cut in the tyre on the same corner. The tyres don't have much meat left on them anyway biggrin so will be replaced soon and I'll keep an eye on the shock absorber and replace both of the rears when appropriate.

17,000 miles since this time last year, 40,000 since I got it 3 years ago and 67,000 in total.

No faults, no changes to the spec this year - I have however just fitted an Android screen to replace the OEM unit as I'm an Android user and to use Android Auto it is either an MMI box or Android unit in these.

Good points:
"Stage 2+" makes it a genuinely quick car
It is a very capable longer distance machine - I do a 200 mile round trip for work every week/fortnight and increasingly frequent 400 mile round trips to my parents.
There is fun to be had with the combination of power/suspension/diff/gearbox
It does the hatchback thing - dogs and bikes etc

Not so good:
Steering feel/front end is not the best. I consider the M3/4 LCA change quite often, at some point it'll annoy me enough that I'll actually do it.
Although the B58 is relatively speaking good on fuel I do put a lot in!
Not the car's fault but I keep trashing the wheels frown
