I quite like the speedster humps.

A wheel refurb in silver and some OE centre caps would set it off a treat and not cost the earth.

surely the answer is to buy both, one set fitted with winters and then you get the best of both worlds! smile

The silver would look good, personally i prefer the look of the 2nd set, but the twists would look good in silver too and keep to the original feel?

I agree. I like the wheels it’s on, they’d just just nicer silver with some OE centre caps.

Gentlemen

The train has left the building. No need for 18 inch. 17 inch will become the new normal. Just need to decide on design.

They’re the best looking 17’s you’ve considered so far.

Choices are simple. Need to be 17 from the Porsche family and not too wide.

Early 986s (and 996s) only look good on turbo twists, hollow spokes preferably.

Have these on mine and I think 17” is perfect for this model as the ride isn’t crashy whatsoever.

These ones are easy enough to clean as well (although my wheel woolly is a bit too thick to get behind the front brake calliper).

Is the ASBO exhaust an Ebay special one? Toyosport et al? Mine has one. It's a bit strong for me too - especially between 2k - 3k rpm.

I'm a little surprised such a low mileage car has had the standard one replaced, likewise the black alloys added. I'd have thought someone / people precious enough to keep the mileage down would also want to preserve more of the original car's authenticity...but then again it only requires one person with bad taste in its history to change all of that!

The dealer I bought mine from (mid-Covid) said the previous owner had 'spent £1000 on the exhaust' but it was only on the drive home I realised how awful it was. I checked the branding on it and then priced them up on Fleabay brand new for £120!

It was a weird decision given the previous chap had thrown the kitchen sink (around £3500) at the car in terms of IMS replacement, clutch, M030 springs, suspension overhaul etc and then added the worst exhaust possible.

It sounds OK with the roof down but it's still very loud. With the hard top on it was very droney on the motorway.

They come in bags. When I bought it I had the spare in the frunk and came home with one hump up front and one in the boot.

Silly question re: seat position.....it just looks a bit high from the pics.

Is the base fully lowered?

I had a few questions from owners BITD after they had inadvertently raised the seat base and not pushed it back down fully.

If yours is fully down - sucks to not fit, but, if not, put the seat forward, pull the release lever up and push your weight back, compressing the pneumatic spring.......

It was fully down but I've just been out trying it slightly raised which feels bit better. I think because I'm actually getting the bottom of my thigh loaded up the cushion now rather than before where they were completely in the air.

I used to get back pain on long drives with those seats until I modified them by unhooking some of the springs behind the inner back cushion to lessen the lumbar bulge.

Also I think you can get the seat further back by raising it a little.

I didn't do the Boxster chop today and regretted it. I thought I saw some unpleasant creasing going on. Checked when I put the roof back up and there were some marks in the plastic window. Treid to get a pic but not sure it works very well.
