9.83 gallons of fuel used yesterday giving an average fuel economy of 64.7mpg. I'm happy with that.
Yes I would be that is very good! What type of roads were you driving in? Is it a good “steer” my old mk1 focus was great. My current a3 isn’t... so was hoping if I did go to a Focus it would be more fun and more economical. keo said:

A mix of motorways, A and B roads. I found it a very enjoyable drive especially going over the twisty roads on Exmoor. It's not quite as sharp to drive as the Mk2 was but a lot more refined and still handles really nicely. Took Mrs Eyersey out for her first ride in it earlier to Pocklington Canal, she is impressed with the car. When it arrived home last Tuesday she asked to swap, errm no
My almost 17 year old stepdaughter wants one as her first car too, she seems to think she won't need any lessons and can go straight for her test. I think she is in for a shock

Following this as we’ve just acquired a 1.5 TDCI, albeit in Zetec trim.
All country roads, with the odd bit of dual carriageway around here. Early days, but favourably impressed with it so far.
How many miles has yours done and how old? All country roads, with the odd bit of dual carriageway around here. Early days, but favourably impressed with it so far.
Thought this might entertain a couple of people, after replacing all the suspension and brakes on my Focus estate for uprated items, Bilstein B4 shocks and Eibach springs, Mintex discs and pads all around, Mrs Bobbers is driving it today, I asked what she thought of the way the car drove now..................
She couldn't tell any difference, but apparently it "feels easier to park"!!!
Sorry for the thread hijack!!!

Anyone know if the 1.5tdci has a wet belt setup like some Ford engines do?
Having just watched a video of replacing the oil pump on a 1.0 Eco boost engine due to the oil pickup getting blocked and causing low oil pressure I am never buying a car with a wet belt.It seems that if the car is used for lots of short journeys, petrol contaminates the oil, attacks the wet belt and bits of rubber then block the oil pickup.
Very common apparently.
