Gave the Focus a quick wash this morning as it was filthy, why is black one of the worst colours for showing dirt?

Stepdaughter's first lesson went well, she won't be doing any learning in the Focus though as my insurance company won't cover her due to her age.

Focus is still running well, now approaching 101k. Stepdaughter's driving lessons also going well, she has had 4 now and apparently her instructor wants to take her on the A63 on her next lesson

Took the Focus for a run out to Lotherton Hall near Leeds yesterday, nice house and gardens along with a wildlife centre there as well, an enjoyable day and waa only £9 each for entry which I don't think is bad. 91 miles round trip which meant this happened as we got back

Thats some fair mileage!

Lookin good!

- My lumbering beast has sat outside for a week, with a dodgy battery, starting to flip a coin to see if it will start.. - but another trip to Ireland should make up for some mileage!

Thanks Peanut Gallery. Sorry to hear your beast is having trouble starting I hope you can get it sorted. The next long trip planned for the Focus is down to Oxfordshire in May for a tour of Enstone Airfield then at the end of May my OH and I have a week in Northumberland.

If you can, get the cambelt changed early, we did one last week as the tensioner was starting to fail resulting in the timing going out.

Do not worry about it not wanting to start - the whole family caught some bug that has been going around, you may have heard about it, its been about for 2 years... - and with that the car has not seen much mileage at all, and nothing at all for the last 2 weeks.

The out-laws live right in the middle of the Republic of Ireland, and have not seen the grandchildren much at all due to the above mentioned bug - the S-Max loves eating the miles sat on a motorway, not so much an around town car.

Thanks, I have asked my friendly garage earlier for a price to have it done.

It’s not expensive, somewhere between £300 and £350. The only thing autodata said was to replace the injection pump pulley, they are around £35 from Ford but we couldn’t see anything wrong with the old one, there was no wear and it was keyed.

Thanks. Is the water pump driven by the belt on them?
