Yes it is, it’s essentially the same as the 1.6 engine with less capacity

Do not worry about it not wanting to start - the whole family caught some bug that has been going around, you may have heard about it, its been about for 2 years... - and with that the car has not seen much mileage at all, and nothing at all for the last 2 weeks.

The out-laws live right in the middle of the Republic of Ireland, and have not seen the grandchildren much at all due to the above mentioned bug - the S-Max loves eating the miles sat on a motorway, not so much an around town car.
Right in the middle, so Offaly/Roscommon/Longford?!

Little further south - Tipperary, but visiting family in the surrounding areas.

Another plan this year will be to take the car down to an undersealing place, for only being a 65 reg car it has a lot of flaking paint and iron oxide starting to show underneath - which led to the demise of my old Focus. - what does the underside of yours look like?

Not sure if the question was aimed at me Peanut Gallery but to be honest I have no idea as I haven't had the car on a ramp or lift.

Ah, I'm in Cork so know Tipp relatively well.

My Mondeo is a 2011 (was 60 plate, imported in 2016 here) and the rear suspension was like it was under the sea...

Done over 140 miles in the Focus today having a trip to Brimham Rocks. Can certainly recommend them for a walk round.

Its done about 2700 miles this year so far which I suppose is about average for a 3 1/2 month period. There's a few long trips coming up over the next few months though, the trip to the airfield in Oxfordshire next month, at the end of May a week in Northumberland, end of June a trip to a war weekend in Staffordshire and July a trip to Stow Maries airfield and Biggin Hill

Part of the trip to Northumberland next month will probably include a tour of Hadrians Wall as my OH has never been.
