Turns out the pollen filter was choked solid and mouldy so clearly hadn't been changed for a long time

Yes I must admit it does, so it's just as well I got the car in. It will need new rear tyres soon and the rear shock absorbers changing at some point as well as the cambelt being done over the next few months. Apparently if the pollen filter wasn't changed it would have burnt the heater motor out.

Ooohhh good time to get it done then!!!
How about replacing all round shocks with Bilstien B4's? They really do make a nice difference, just a a bit firmer than standard without compromising the rude!!

A thought has just occurred to me, I wonder if the pollen filter being blocked causing the heater motor to burn out was the cause of Zafira B fires.

Car booked in for 2 new tyres on Saturday, I'm getting Firestones on it as the cheaper tyres they had were all cheaper Chinese brands I had never heard of before. I also managed to catch a bit of trim yesterday and broke it off so I have to find a way of sticking it back on.

I agree, the cheapest tyres were under £50 each but aa I say I had never heard of the brands, the Firestones are £125 for the pair including fitting which isn't too bad.
