Peaks were full of Lotus last weekend as it was the annual 'Lotus in the peaks' event. I went along on Sunday which culminated in over 300 on the grass at Chatsworth.
Sorry missed this. I have seen some pictures it looked a good day, I was going to go but I ended up out on the beer instead! Nice Exige!Edited by keo on Wednesday 13th July 22:50

would love to hear your thoughts on how this compares to your previous GT4? What didn't you like about the GT4 that this ticks the box of?
I just found the GT4 boring. Nice looking and the carbon seats were stunning but for me it definitely wasn’t a toy/ weekend car. I didn’t like the electric steering. It was just numb. I know I am in the minority here and people rave about them but it just wasn’t for me. It sounded good, looked good and the brakes were good. But it just didn’t have that specialness that made me want to take it out for a drive just for the sake of it.
Nice to tick having a Porsche off the list but I can’t see me ever returning to the brand for a sports car. A macan/ cayenne would make a nice daily though.
Just dropping into the Exige makes it feel special. GT4 just felt like a (nice) normal car. It blows the GT4 out of the water for a weekend/ fun car. I’d love a Caterham but for me the Exige pips it as it’s “practical”. I have a roof, a boot and can go away for the weekend with the Mrs init. Because of this I can use it more. Couldn’t see my Mrs getting in a caterham very often.

Exactly the reason I chose an Exige, With a busy young family the times and occasions I can use a 2 seat sports car are rare. So when I do have the opportunity I want it to be a full on exhilarating experience. Combine that with just about enough practicality for rare weekends away, its perfect for me.
What model is yours I like the colour!keo said:

What model is yours I like the colour!Well the tax ran out in September and I didn’t bother to renew it as I was going on holiday and I thought it would be a waste of money. Thinking i will put 6 months on it in March, I wouldn’t use it in the bad weather.
Last time I used it I did a 150 mile round trip and stayed at a mates for the weekend. He has a Golf R, I was impressed felt very quick. The Mrs fell asleep init on the way home. Don’t think she could do that in an Atom.
Saying that I am at a bit of a cross roads. I don’t know if it’s just typical of me liking to change cars or a bit of boredom as not used it. But I have thought should I sell it and try something else. But considering I have only had it 12 months and had full ppf fitted I think I’d lose quite a bit of money on it.
I have all sorts of ideas. Sell it and save some money. Or upgrade the daily and have a cheaper toy or even no toy at all for now. But I think I’d regret not having something.
Toy idea’s range from atoms (thanks Mdifficult on here!) or caterhams. New daily range from Yaris GR, Fiesta ST, Lexus LC500 or some kind of hybrid. Being sensible though I dont think I will get an expensive daily doing 20k boring motorway miles a year for work. Must admit I think I have watched every LC500 video on YouTube though!

No real updates. I serviced the trusty old A3 last week. It has done 185k miles now. So Lotus saw the light of day and came out of the garage. I could of done it outside, it wasn’t raining but it’s nicer to be in the garage.
Favourite A3 replacement is an orange performance edition Fiesta ST at the minute. But I definitely want to try and get the A3 to 200k before I swap it.
My mate has been out in his GT3 this morning I couldn’t go as 1, car isn’t taxed, 2 I was out on the beer yesterday. I wish I had taken the car out my mate had a good drive. I am going to tax it in March.

Had the second service completed in March, some of the led’s in the drivers side headlight were also out. Luckily after a bit of moaning lotus replaced it under warranty. I was told it was £1800 for a new unit!
Other than that I haven’t really used it much this year for one reason or another. Did have one run out in the peaks and saw a lime green 410 parked up in Matlock.
I needed to put a caliper on A3 a few weeks ago, it also needs another service when I get around to it. Other than that both cars have been running well.

It's a wonderful looking car.
Interesting to hear your comparison with the GT4, as that is like a dream car for me.

Yes I know I am in the minority not liking the GT4. It was a stunning car and a dream car as well, never thought I’d have one. It just wasn’t for me unfortunately.
Thanks to Ben for the picture from last weeks phss
I went a small pistonheads meet in Stafford in the week as well so definitely been using it more.
Found a Prodrive sticker on the carbon engine cover under the hinge when I was washing it, that’s a cool little detail I thought.
I also serviced trusty old A3 yesterday at 195k miles. I wonder how long I will keep it for but no idea what replace it with!
I went caffeine and machine Sunday for a run out with the Mrs. Not really used the car much. I have been previously but not with the Mrs, didn’t think it was her thing but she enjoyed it. She loves a spin out and fell asleep in Exige yet again.
I like how caffeine and machine is a moving motor show as such with cars coming and going. I was the only lotus there. Lots of nice stuff but what really turned my head again was a white Caterham 7 420R…
I also saw a Clio Trophy pull in, I used to own one years ago and is probably the car I regret selling the most so was nice to see.
I have thought about selling Exige for a while, I love it but I do like to try different cars. So Sunday night I thought nothing ventured, nothing gained and threw a quick advert up on ph. Will see what happens.
