Lovely looking car, O/P, though i am biased when it comes to a good Z4C having owned 2 now.

Pic of my current one in profile.

I'm a sucker for CSLs, which i ordered the day i got the car, and replaced MV2s.

Having said that i've a refreshly powdercoated set of Z4M 224M alloys and with new genuine centre caps, genuine M stickers and a fresh set of Michelins fitted which i think i will stick on for this summer.

I think they're tremendous VFM for something so rare. We bought our first one new back in 2007 and then it looked huge with the big long nose. They look tiny and so low now compared to modern cars.

Yes, i didnt rush out looking for a silver one but i'm really pleased with it. The silver brings out the styling lines in them very well.

Another owner here. Looked and thought about one for many years and eventually bought it nearly 3 years ago. Lockdown and other things make use a little low on the mileage stakes , but also ordered the csl style wheels on the day we brought it home. Never likes the MV2's and the cost of the rims was similar to refurbing the original wheels, l I didnt like. They are also a lot lighter from just lifting them as a non scientific answer. The orginal MV2's were like granite. Been cheap to run as lots of bits from the BMW parts bin. Due to come out of hibernation in under 10 days , for the next 8 months. Not the fastest but a really refined turbine straight six sounds great. Perfect for our trip around Wales in a few months time and NC500 in 2023 with my mate in his new Emira , if Lotus keep to the timescale ( already a month delay he has been told) Looking forward to it.

The howmanyleft data isn't correct. You'll find the data somewhere on the Z4 forum, but there is thousands of them.

Nice cars.
Well sort of thousands - just!

Someone on the z4forum spent hours (maybe days) compiling a database that suggests that only 2,189 3.0Si Coupes were registered in the UK, which includes Autos and SE models.

Gratuitous photos of the 3 I've had just because!

Seeing as this thread keeps going on can somebody advise what the servicing schedules are on the 3.0 engines?

I'm look at one and I think it might be due a Inspection 2 service but not sure what this entails.

Not sure on the mileage countdown, but think its 16k miles or 2 years.

I just change the engine oil annually , gearbox and diff every 2 years ( my plan) brake fluid is due when my bleeder appears.

There is no engine shims or anything requiring dismantling , other than engine cover for spark plugs. So , servicing is pretty cheap. Brakes are E46 , so plenty of options. Remember 6.5ltrs of oil though.

What mileage? The 3.0 in either guise isn’t very expensive to service, the M on the other hand in addition to general M tax requires valve clearances checking and adjustment on a regular basis . Tbh your talking about a car 14+ years old, I’d be changing the fluids, filters and other service bits that need changing based on condition, previous history and how you intend to drive it. The inspection II isn’t much more than inspection I on a 3.0 ( plugs and cabin filter from memory).

Loving the pics guys keep them coming.

Yes the 'inspections' are really just that, checking stuff works as it should. Nothing taxing at all and certainly not something I would be paying a dealer to do.

Mine had an oil change a year ago and has done something like 4k miles since. I probably will change the oil and filters just as a matter of process of buying a car, as I always do. Although 6.5 litres eek I think it takes.

Looks great in silver I agree. I did literally buy the first one I went to look at which just happened to be black. I wouldn't have gone for silver but that pic up there looks great.

We live in NI where the market is very very limited for anything "interesting", so when ours appeared online and local i jumped at the chance. Like yourself silver wouldnt have been our first choice and also like you we literally did buy the first one i went to look at, which luckily turned out to be a good one!

We had a brand new one "back in the day" in Montego blue. We'd Schnitzer style 19 inch alloys on it which have dated very badly IMHO, though we loved them at the time.

Are they 18" wheels?
Every e86 owner takes the same angle photo, the rear 3/4 looks perfect even all these years on!

Yes, I stuck with 18's as a little more sidewall than 19's and comfort. I have Eibach springs and set them at the M sport height , so they have a softer progression to the standard M Sport springs, so with the non run flats make it pretty much ideal in the roads round Berkshire, who's idea of fixing roads is non-existent.

They look good. I'm torn between a refurb of my existing MV2's or swapping to some csl style wheels.

The CSLs made quite a difference to my car compared to the MV2s. I'm very pleased with them and they look like they were made for a Z4C.

As i said above i've a set of Z4Ms that i think i'll stick on this summer for a change but i dont think they'll have the wow factor of the CSLs even though i really do love the Z4M rims.
