What a difference that walnut blasting made.. seems a bargain for the price.
Great that it’s running/driving well after the last couple of tweaks with the injector/geometry too. When do you think the power upgrade stuff will get fitted and loaded up?
Probably towards the end of the month to give me a bit mor confidence that it’s running well / as it should be.Great that it’s running/driving well after the last couple of tweaks with the injector/geometry too. When do you think the power upgrade stuff will get fitted and loaded up?
Is currently running and driving beautifully at the moment.

Thanks, at the moment I have similar front camber, but a bit more front toe (0.9).
At the rear I have less camber (1.85) and less toe (1.00).
I might try changing things up a bit when my new tyres are on.

If is not too much of a mission, I highly recommend String Theory. They seem to do a really good job for ok money.

Hi mate, what have they set it up for that differs from a normal alignment? Place near me does hunter alignment but they usually just set it "in spec" as it were, I'm getting it done soon as I'm putting new tyres on and I've never done it since owning the car, is it worth showing them these specs or going to string theory instead?84Reasons said:

If Stratford isn’t too far, I really recommend String Theory. Ben and Co do a really good job and really take their tine.
I am a bit of a princess about alignments though and am happy paying that bit extra to get it absolutely bob on.

My car has M3 LCA’s and camber plates so has negative camber at the front. If I recall correctly there is slightly less rear toe because they set my car up to match my old 130i which I really liked how Ben set up for me.

I haven't done any suspension mods hence wondering if there is a point - I'm going to refresh my shocks soon but will stick with stock, I've lowered my cars before and can't be bothered anymore and its had so much money spent and work done recently I'd rather not spend any more hahaHave you done any suspension mods to your car or is it stock?

Fair enough, the local place is probably your best shot. I’ve just caught up on your thread….it’s certainly needed a chunk of work! Hope it’s running well now though. My 335i is still running like a dream.
It was treated to yet another clean today after the snow n preparation for me to change the brake fluid tomorrow. There was no way I was touching the wheels in their current state!
And I still love my red interior (which remains rattle free).
Also I finally cleaned the underside of the bonnet which was really grimy.
I did check with BMW for a price on the brake fluid change because on here there were some crazy cheap prices mentioned but they wanted £112. Sod that. The actual brake fluid change was £75 plus £15 for disposing of the old fluid and £22 to read the codes / reset the light. I already have a litre of OE fluid so I’ll crack on with that tomorrow.

Great to hear that it is still running well Sam, and it looks lovely as always too. £112 does seem very toppy as you say for the brake fluid. I'm sure I paid just under £80 when I had it done on the M4 in comparison.
The actual work was £75, which is only a few quid more than the indy but is the other bits that killed it. That was the same price in the service website too.
£15 disposal was the same as the oil despite there being less of it.
I’ll just do it myself as I have a bleeder and the fluid.

Car is sitting absolutely beautifully in terms of height and wheel fitment. I'm glad you're pleased with it and able to enjoy it!
I'm also really jealous of your rattle free interior!
Thanks, I think it sits well too.I'm also really jealous of your rattle free interior!
There is a slight rattle coming from the centre of the dash which I think is the unused cables from the Andream screen which I need to look at. The main thing is no rattles from the new seats or door cards.
Having cleaned and changed the oil on her 125i, it was time to do the brake fluid on my 335i.
Litre and a bit of genuine BMW brake fluid in my pressure blender ready to go.
The fluid that came out wasn’t that dirty which was good. A fair bit of air cane out though, particularly from the nearside rear calliper.
The front nearside calliper took a while to get going for some reason. I assume there was something in the nipple blocking it.
Whilst the wheels were off, I decided to deep clean the inner faces of the wheels which had picked up a fair bit of contamination over the winter.
It then pissed it down with rain, which was helpful.
Service indicator reset. I’ve done 14k since I bought the car last April.

Another trip to Holyhead for work with a pit stop at Coed y Brenin on the way home for a bike ride. The rain this morning in Snowdonia was absolutely biblical at times.
The car has now done 1,800 miles since the indy had it and not a check engine light in sight. In fact it’s still running better than ever; it returned 30mpg today which was pretty good because I really enjoyed the A5 this morning when the weather allowed and I had a clear run din the A470 tonight and along a chunk of the A458 which were enjoyed as it was dry. When the exhaust is hot, it makes sone good burbles when downshifting to second which kelt my inner child entertained.
I nearly abandoned my ride because the weather was so bad the sun made an appearance as I arrived in Holyhead. It was nice when arrived in Coed y Brenin too….but 10 minutes into my ride it shat it down. Joy.
One dirty car.
One dirty me!
I’m hoping that the weather is going to pick up this weekend so I can give the car it’s post winter detail in time for Sunday Service next week.

And proper north Wales weather
We can get to Penmon fishing and it'll have rained, hailed and then be 25°C sunshine all within an hour

Hopefully. If this carries on, there’ll be no excuses for not getting it remapped! And proper north Wales weather

The weather was pretty grotty; Snowdon was totally surrounded by cloud and lots of the low fields looked like lakes.

I have a stage 1 N54 in my Z4 35i. It's chalk and cheese to the standard engine. I recall that you got some work done in Nuneaton, so if you're East Mids / Leicester / Hinckley way you're welcome to try it. Thanks for the offer; I might just take you up on that.Is it a custom map or MHD?
