Aston Martin DBX - my journey
Discussion
DBX was collected today for a raft of replacement parts that have finally come into stock:
- replacement DRL (current one fogs up)
- replacement rear brake pads (current pads squeal)
- replacement front pass door seal
Decided it would be easier for me to put the winter wheels in the car and get Aston to change them over, much quicker and easier than me doing them(my back will thank me!)
Will be getting the summer wheels refurbed next week. Going full bright silver or maybe gun metal, getting rid of the black and diamond cut will be refreshing!

Good lord what a rollercoaster! Spending my morning reading the full thread. So glad to hear that the 707 is healthy!
Glad you enjoyed the ride! It’s a great car but not without its issues. Godspeed to anyone who buys one out of warranty. Especially those early 1/500 1913 editions which are now creeping under £100k!nathwraith1 said:

Except the rear brake pads hadn’t been replaced, still on back order apparently. Despite the tech telling me “all parts” required for my car had arrived into the service centre.
So this means another trip into the service centre whenever the pads decided to turn up. Only been waiting a month and a half for brake pads!
I swear this cars issues are half niggles and half incompetence and blunders by Aston.
Got my winter wheels on now and the summers have been dropped off for a refurb. Collecting them on Monday, they will not be black/diamond cut anymore!

Sorry to hear of your tyranny with this OP, however I don't think the issue is exclusively with Aston; a colleague chopped his M2 Competition in for a new Discovery towards the end of 2021, as everyone knows having a child automatically means abandoning any idea of keen motoring and getting a 4x4... So, 2 months and 4,000 miles after arrival the car develops an unknown fault and goes in to the main dealers. The car remained there for the next 6 months, becoming the butt of many jokes in the office. After 3 months of courtesy cars, including a bloody Evoque and something called a Discovery Sport (), the chap went to the main dealers, and found his Disco accompanied by another 12 cars with exactly the same issue lying dormant outside the workshop. I recall something being mentioned about a fuel pump failure and a drought of parts to fix the cars with, so owners were left without their family buses for extended periods. Bit of a joke when not one issue was had with his previous M2 Comp, and indeed the same story after 12 months/18,000 miles with his M340d Touring that he binned the Discovery for. When reliable cars can be made, seems a bit daft for manufacturers not to do so in the name of living up to the 'Land Rovers are unreliable crap' stereotype...CKY said:

God that does sound bad! The longest I’ve been without my car about 2 weeks iirc.
M2 to a discovery is a big change but you underestimate how much room a rear facing baby seat takes up and the pram etc etc. an M2 would be a poor choice of car unless your kids were old enough to sit in front facing seats or boosters in the back.
An X3M would be the logical step form an M2 because of the sweet engine and M car credentials but even they are compromised in the rear. Especially if you have tall passengers in the front.
Sorry just seen you mentioned he’d gone for a 340d touring. The space must work for him. I’d imagine an M3 touring is looking tempting for him! I’d just worry about how brittle the ride would be.

The wheels look fantastic - definitely enhance the paintwork to me. Good to hear the foibles have hopefully been resolved. Dare i say it but it looks a bit more "subtle" now?!
Thanks, well there is a “foibles” update to post later. Preferably once I’ve poured a glass of wine Yes much less “bad man”, maybe I’ll swap the front black grill out for the “bright” equivalent too!
