Autodocs delivery standards ate ste at best; so always allow 2-3 weeks. Any earlier and that's a huge plus...
Everything I ordered recently took 2 weeks to be delivered
Brilliant Everything I ordered recently took 2 weeks to be delivered
Not going to allow much time before the French trip to get them changed over and the alignment done

I know Autodoc offer great prices at times, but the tradeoff is the stty delivery times

I’m not surprised there’s a catch as the parts were very cheap.
Good recommendations though will look into those, need discs soon
I went with Brembo 2 piece discs (£99 each via ECP) and Textar pads off eBay for my previous F01...Good recommendations though will look into those, need discs soon
I'd personally stick with ATE/Jurid or Textar (all OEM) for brakes and you'll get them cheap enough off eBay UK. But deffo check ECP for the Brembo discs and see what offers they may have on (same with carparts4less and GSF Car Parts)

Cheers bud. I'd like to pay less than £100 a disc, my Boxster discs were only £60 each! That was pre-apocalypse however..
Just need to measure mine and see if they're the 'reinforced' type or not.
It's all changed now!Just need to measure mine and see if they're the 'reinforced' type or not.
What size are your discs, 330mm or 348mm (I'd say more than likely 330mm)
Textar here, discs & pads for the front:

Cheers for the link bud. The pads have recently been replaced and have loads of life left in them. I’ll probably just go discs for now but will likely stick with Textar.
Everything points toward them being 330mm, i’ll measure up when the wheel is next off, most likely doing the arms, hopefully a job for next weekend

No worries; personally whenever I change brakes; I do pads & discs at the same time... Means its all fresh then and wears evenly etcEverything points toward them being 330mm, i’ll measure up when the wheel is next off, most likely doing the arms, hopefully a job for next weekend
Each to their own, that's my OCD
I do always ring BM for parts, for some things they seem ok, service oils were surprisingly cheap for example and things like locking wheel bolts etc were a good price. The tension struts were £269 each from memory however! I was surprised to have to ask for the BMW Value price for the tension struts. They actually came down to around £200 each and included all hardware and fixings where the ones at £269 didn’t. If so hadn’t of asked he wouldn’t have told me. Not great but guess these parts guys aren’t really sales people.
Be good if there’s a club discount

Cotswolds BMW offer forum discounts etcBe good if there’s a club discount
However I've never found their brake prices competitive at all. Same with their suspension parts as you'd mentioned...
They are good for parts that must be BMW but for brakes and suspension, I'll always go to other retailers that offer the OEM parts without the OEM prices (Meyle, Lemforder, TRW, ATE, Textar, Jurid etc) and then my local motorfactors for the likes of Moog etc

Finally have a free day today to get the tension struts done. Relatively straight forward job once i’d figured out what needed removing and what tools were needed to do the job.
Measured the height from the hub centre to the wing to torque up at ride height
and got to changing them
The old ones coming out were noticeably slacker than the new ones, not massively though and no where near as bad as the tuning fork arms on my previous Boxster, I was wondering if I’d notice a difference in driving at this point
Scissor jacked the hub up to nip the bolt / nut up
Went to torque specs as closely as I could but ended up giving it a good go with a bit of scaffolding pipe I .. found. I knew it would come in handy
And new one in
Onto the other side and as the first cleaned up the mating surfaces to ensure a good solid fit
And then off to get it aligned. A new place I haven’t used before but these were the guys who mentioned the bushings were gone in the first place (never had that feedback before). The Drive over to the garage confirmed thankfully that there is a big difference between old and new. The steering felt heavier (in a good way) more sure footed and over all more stable. Good good.
Onto the ramps
and the results
Front wasn’t too bad, back was pretty far out. Much nicer to drive on the way home as expected really, I hadn’t realised just how much it was pulling to the left until it was sorted. Very happy and now ready for France in a week or so. Always a stinger though
Ouch

With the car sorted it’s time to test it on the autoroutes, peages and rural lanes of French Pays de la Loire
Loaded up at 4am this morning and now sat in Portsmouth waiting to go over to Caen. Staying with my mum in the gite next to her peasant house (actually what it’s referred to in France)
Hopefully won’t need the euro breakdown cover i’ve bought.
