No you need MAX noise. Always. How much difference does the valve controller make? Is is noticeable when you press the remote? Fitted mine yesterday and it clicks the relay and changes voltage from zero to 6v on one of the pins but I’m not sure actual volume alters…
The way the controller works is to open the additional valves below 4000rpm. What I've noticed is that it's a richer, less tinny sound now at lower RPM, more of a rumble? It's not significantly louder, but it is defintely better.
A pre-GPF car will have a much more pronounced difference with the valve controller. (IIRC 2021 MY was when GPF got forced into the build)
I'd love an Armytrix, but concerned how long it would last as I intend to keep her forever. Maybe a trip to Hayward & Scott?
Thanks for that - I did a diy vacuum solenoid and remote switch on my last car and that was night and day louder. I’ll have to play a bit more. It’s definitely doing something and I’d agree with a bit more bass but it’s not knocking my socks off… all very relatively speaking obviously!
GPF made the bhp go down from 471 to 464 so around a late 2018 car is where it sadly got quieter for EU/UK cars. US and others still get the full 471. Exhaust looks quite easy to swap out the rear section from what I’ve read

After 13 months, and swearing I would take her to my grave... I've sold her back to Lexus.
A few things got me to this stage, (sorry LC, it's not you - it's me):
Living in the middle of a massive dairy farming area, with miles of single track roads to cover before hitting any kind of sensible road was massively stressful any time I wanted to take her for a drive... in a year I've done 1900 miles.. a qtr of which were just to and from the dealer when I collected it/serviced it/sold it.
I don't have enough money or space to run a car I don't want to risk driving.
Lexus' apathetic response to the theft issues.
So she's gone... I actually feel a bit of relief overall, and will post up a thread about what I have replaced her with soon.
Overall though, I cannot fault the LC500 - they are simply sublime... you can spend twice as much money and not get twice as much car.
Looks, sound and presence.
So long my friend!
