Itl be like a different car Dan if the standard was anything like the standard set up on mine. There’s a bump near my house then sent the rear of mine all over the place, and it was completely composed and almost felt like no bump on the drive back from picking it up.
I did a an Anglesey track day after Stevie had set up mine and spent the first few hours more shocked with each lap at how much more speed I could take over stock laugh

Aye he & Don will have done a good job; they called yesterday to say that they'd got more camber adjustment that they thought they would, which is ideal to get the set up more dialled in and a better fast road set up etc...

Looking forward to getting a drive in it; but it'll have to wait until tomorrow probably as I've meetings coming out of my ears today; typical!

I had noticed similar on the M3. Driving at 7/10 you'd never know, but when really gunning for it, especially if going round a corner over a bump or something the rear just felt a little bit looser than I think it should.

If it's pissing down with rain when I get it back I'll just take it for a long motorway run to give it a solid heat cycle as it's not really moved since 20th November!
Yeah that's it; some of the local roads to me, one in particular, has camber that switches on a bend and you can feel the back end not being as planted as it should be. It wants to let go a bit so that's where you let off and then press on once you're just passed it.

When I had similar work done to my E39 touring; that with new subframe bushes on the rear, and the new Arnott bags (as well as new Sachs shocks, all new arms etc) - you'd take that same bend and it was flat and gripped all the way through. You knew then that the previous suspension was failing etc

And back on the drive thumbup

My pals have done a superb job; only driven the car home as I'm not really able to drive much currently unfortunately; so it'll have to wait to the end of the month when I've recovered, to take it for a proper run

But it felt planted on the way home; the new suspension is just that, new! Feels firmer, but not stupidly, takes bends and roundabouts much better and one section of road that I knew the F31 would get a bit loose on, in the rear, didn't at all and just drove straight & true biggrin

A few shots of it back on the drive at its new ride height and a few shots of the rear all built up with all new arms bar the rear ones as they're not even a year old wink

Yup; very happy its back Ross - not going to use it much for a quite a while. but least the cars sorted for the wife to use whilst the colder weather kicks in (even though she'll be working from home & looking after me for a week or 2) biggrin

More to do yet; but all in good time...

Good stuff. Sounds like it was worth the time and effort getting it sorted then.

If you can, drive the A939 between Grantown-on-Spey and Cock Bridge (no sniggering at the back). Absolutely epic bit of road.

Yeah I've heard that's a great road; prob not best time in Feb (it's hell of a jaunt up from Dunkeld at that time of year); but maybe later in the year as we're planning a 2 week break (either Northern France / the landing beaches and surrounding) or NW Scotland, some NC500 and then back across to the East Coast for a few days and back...

Finally; 1st time in nearly 3 weeks, been able to give the BMW a wash (albeit contactless)... Not been able to touch the car since my op; but able to move more freely now and should be fine for driving in the next day or two...

It needed a wash; grey with just cack from the skies; it's been sat on trickle since 17th!

It'll be filthy again in no time; but it keeps my OCD happy biggrin

I was going to get the ZF service done before we head up to The Highlands on 11th Feb but haven't got the time now so it's booked in for when we get back and then I'll look to get it remapped and the box mapped too I think... thumbup

Looking good. Where exactly are you going? If you can, you must drive the A939, it's a superb road.

To my folks property in Dunkeld pal… Not sure where we’re heading next week but a lot of roads closed with snow currently.

We’re doing the Aberfeldy distillery tour on Thursday (my brother, Dad and I). Clay pigeon shooting Wed morning with lunch at the Taybank (which means we’ll end up staying in there all afternoon and the ladies will meet us there haha) biggrin

It’s a week for doing not a lot TBH bar river walks and drinking copious amounts of ale and whisky… wink

Ticked over 100k on the way back home from the Highlands…

We’ve covered 592 miles on one tank with 60 odd left door to door, there & back with a few road trips out, so good mileage from the N47 wink

The car is absolutely grim inside and out, weather was as foul as 40 bum holes on the way back and seems to be like that for a few days yet. So it’ll have to wait before I can get to clean it inside & out!

Pleased to say the new suspension is absolutely superb & really glad I’ve stuck with my guns and not going too firm!

That's not bad going Dan, and glad to hear that the suspension is working out for you, and what you wanted. Ultimately these aren't track cars and you want some comfort!

It is fantastic. I'm going back in June (for the 7th or 8th time). Some of the roads there are utterly magnificent.

It’s a good break away pal. Folks have property there so we have a jaunt up this t8me every year as it’s my Dads (and Uncle NI’s) birthday haha… Just my brother, his wife, me and my wife and my folks though this time around…

Weathers been a bit crap unfortunately though, you just make do and get on etc…

Exactly Ross. I wanted better handling etc, but didn’t wasn’t to sacrifice comfort, so it’s the perfect combination…

It was a great drive over to Braemar via Glenshee… Gave the brakes a good work out too biggrin

Gave it a thorough deep clean inside and a quick contactless wash outside (engine bay cleaned too) biggrin

The grime from the roads in The Highlands managed to get itself everywhere!

That'll do it for now as it's due to lash it down again here all week... rolleyes
