Tony's Gilbern
Discussion
I nearly bought one of these many years ago, it had the same green velour trim, I would have had to replace it.
In the end I did not buy the car, the balance pipe? Connecting the twin fuel tanks Across the rear of the boot put me off, fire risk in a rear shunt. Are they still like that or was the design changed on safety grounds?
Edited to clarify what the balance pipe is connecting

I think it was to save the cost of two fuel pumps, I think car only had one fuel filler so it would also have needed another filler cap. Thanks for reading
Stylish looks though and good engine, I should have bought the car and modified it to suit my safety standards.
The overdrive on the car was kaput but at that time (1980’s) there was a retired engineer from the O/D manufacturer’s who repaired them in his garage, he rebuilt the o/d for the TVR 2500m I had.
Just caught up with this thread via one of your other posts.
As mentioned there, this car belonged to my late colleague and I've known it for 40+ years.
I knew of Tony's sad passing and I'm delighted to see that the Invader is in good hands and now being looked after and used in the same manner that Tony enjoyed.
Well done!
