Excellent. The OG strutting in with a Volvo project. How much space will the bay have left once the V8's in?
Depends how much remodelling of the engine bay is required. We're expecting it to be quite a challenge. The engine is on a jig right now so it can be fired up and prepared ahead of fitment.

Popped down today. Still lots of remedial work to do on rust issues and past bridges. And this is a “solid” one.

Front needs prepping with fixed points before some chopping for the engine. Axle probably next with modified Ford Explorer unit going in.

Spare wheel well has gone, replaced with fabricated chassis rail.

Driver’s side getting a dose of solidity. Found glass fibre repairs in that area last year.

Bits now being positioned and a chassis and front subframe solution being measured up to pull it all together. Mustang axle needs narrowing.

Gearbox from 350Z, various adaptations required.

Does the door skin get welded on? Would have been good to have got some Dynamat in first assuming you're putting some decent speakers in.

Or maybe it's not a priority/they go somewhere else/it would have caught fire.
There's more body prep for paint required before then.

Found a chap in Denmark who had a RHD P1800 dashboard available. Should arrive in the next couple of weeks, pending import shenanigans.

Wheels ordered and should be here this month (US import).

They'll be added to the car on the jig to confirm measurements etc for subframe solution up front.

Rear axle is narrowed Mustang so reasonable size disks on the rear will be simple enough.

Front subframe and chassis is still being planned. I’ll report back on that once it’s in place.

Not sure on weight. Plan is to have a cage in there too as I don’t want 350bhp chucking me in a ditch without some safety measures.

4 month hiatus over and we now have wheels.

That should unlock work on the axle, fuel tank and rear end and allow the front chassis to be specced up and ordered.

Yes, sound chap and the team have great skills and increasingly good equipment. Just the expected challenge of remaining at the front of the queue. Waiting on parts etc can result in delays accumulating.

Dashboard from a P1800 being 'encouraged' in. Wasn't the one-to-one swap I naively thought it was. They've done a great job though.

New wheels. I've never bought wheels before. What joy they bring! Just beautiful things.

Bumpers being prepped before going off for chroming. Do I reinstate the overriders or will it help the car look wider if I leave them off?

It’s quite a narrow car so I think no over riders will help.
