A while ago I got a good deal on a P1800 dashboard (lots of lovely dials rather than a horizontal speedo thing).
We plonked it in the car and realised that it's not a one-for-one swap. The chaps have done a great job of reworking it to make it fit, but the real challenge was how it would interface with the doors. Solution was forthcoming today. Top craftsmen.

Much of the cutaway is to facilitate the forthcoming chassis.
Custom engine, gearbox, axle and prop shaft just didn’t really marry up to the existing floor pan.
Had I known when I started this journey, how scary this section would be I’d probably not have started! But we’re here now. No going back!

After many weeks of measurement we’re ready to order a box section chassis kit from the US now. Probably a couple of months before that lands.
We’ve also reviewed all the chrome work we need. Fortunately a lot of it is available for Sweden at reasonable prices. Then we’re getting a local company to re chrome with a nickel effect.
In the meantime I think the engine will be put back on a stand and they’ll start looking at getting it running.
