I can confirm that the E91 Pre LCI M-sport bumper is the same across all models. It's just the lower trim that changes. It's clipped in. It's actually a bit of pain to remove as the clips are stubborn to say the least.
Thanks for the confirmation. There are a few cheap ones on ebay, so I'll study the pictures as best I can, in the hope of getting a good one, not needing paint. Been quoted £350 for that! Firstly, the bumper I found has been bought and collected. It's now with my preferred bodyshop, having a few repairs and a respray. In the coming weeks when we're a little flusher we'll pay him and he'll swap it and the twin pipe trim on to the car.

I have an inkling that ours may just may be on the the way out. Research suggests new they are circa £1k. Remanufactured ones with 6 months warranty are readily available for between £2-300. Is there any reason that these should be avoided, or anything I need to be looking for or asking?
The reason I suspect so, I'm noting sporadic 'long' start ups, and even more sporadic (maybe 10x in 6 months) EML warnings, requiring a simple on/off/on of the ignition to clear limp mode.
Any other suggestions, ideas, questions around this welcome.

Re the HPFP, have you read the codes? I'd expect the ECU should be able to detect a failing HPFP given the expected pressure curves and that the high pressure line is monitored. No guarantee of course, but I wouldn't play parts roulette without doing some investigation first.

In the end I got the bumper for £20 instead of £40, as there was a little superficial damage. The body shop has said he'll repair these bits with heat, for the price he previously quoted for paint and fit. He does a perfect job, so it will be better than before I banged it. He's also lined up to re-paint the roof, rear boot spoiler, under the rear boot spoiler (there was rust, so sanded it off, and applied Bilt Hamber rust killer) and also sort a bit of corrosion on the windscreen pillar trims. In to next year he'll do this lot for £450, a very fair cost I'd say. The roof is being done as the paint generally isn't perfect, there are a couple of bird muck lacquer burns, and the roof spoiler has some lacquer peel. RE the code-reading. If Sam / Court_S is reading: Could I pop over to your work at Nottingham one day, and if you bought along your code reader we could take a look? After the Auto Electrician finished sorting the central locking he did advise that there were a few codes still needing clearing. I have a code reader, but when I plugged it in I couldn't make head or tail of what I was supposed to be doing! I need to pop over to him at Bulwell at some point, as he's still got the cars spare key, and nudging him to post it us is falling on deaf ears. He works all the hours God gives, so I'm sure it's a getting around to doing it and nothing else, but I want it back ASAP.

Just another question, whilst I'm updating things. Attempting to clear the dashboard warning lights. Does anyone know what the two '!' symbols, one in a triangle one in a circle mean? (handbrake released in this pic)
Also, the phone SOS with a strikethrough, why is it saying this isn't working? I understand from Google that if in an emergency you simply press the button of the same description, located near the rear view mirror, and the car will then contact BMW with your cars location, and contact the emergency services for you. Obviously, accordingly, I'm not wishing to test the button, but is this a fault that could be cleared at amateur level?

You need to use iDrive or the cluster menu (indicator stalk roller thing) to get details of the error.Also, the phone SOS with a strikethrough, why is it saying this isn't working? The circle one usually means low brake fluid, although it could be other things on this car. I'd check that first, including that the sensor is ok.

Actually, you'll probably find that the triangle check control message gives you the details of why the (!) light is on. Usually when you get a warning light in the cluster, check control will give you a more detailed message.As you have iDrive, use that to read the message. I can't remember where it is in CCC (as my current car is CIC) but I think you press the wheel on the main screen (ie select the "i" in the centre).

It can also be a wiring fault on the MOST loop.An odd one, which I'm keen to get to the bottom one, ideally without spending anything. If anyone can offer thoughts?
When I bought the car the split tailgate was inoperable. Changing the button on the rear wash wipe underside sorted it, with much faff, and having to cut the cable to get them through the small gap. So the split tailgate releases, but about half the time when I use the rear wash wipe the split tailgate releases.

After reassembling everything, annoyingly some centre console buttons aren't functioning. To elaborate, the heated seats, and the heater/ air con controls.
I revisited the boot wiring, and couldn't see anything not connected etc. Is there a specific bit of wiring in the boot, which if disturbed could disable these controls. Really feel like repeatedly chucking a brick at this blue bd after all the grief it's bestowed me today
