Just read this thread, very interesting and hats off to the owner.
I had a 59 plate BMW 320i that needed a timing chain. It was an engine out job as it’s at the back of the engine. The bill was over £5k and that was about 11 years ago.
Also, mildly interested in an off road course in the North West I could take my X5 on, obviously needs to be a very easy one. Got stuck in the mud bumping onto a grass verge once

Can’t wait! As luck would have it, there’s a touristenfahrten day at the Ring, so I’ve booked a rental from Rent4Ring who I sued a couple of years ago. Nice way to break up the drive to Stuttgart.
Don’t think I’m brave/dumb enough to take the Porsche round the ring just yet.
Why did you sue them….Don’t think I’m brave/dumb enough to take the Porsche round the ring just yet.
25.4 so far. Pretty happy with that but hopefully that will increase with more driving.
The Nurburgring today was very challenging 1 lap was heavy rain, the next had snow! It was a good learning experience but I’ve decided to stay another night here and have some more time tomorrow as it will be dry.
I’m also knackered and I don’t think a 4 hour drive to Stuttgart this evening is a good idea.
