Why does it need the lead if it’s wireless carplay ?
And where can one purchase a bumper ?
It’s a wireless charging pad. You need a wired connection to use Apple CarPlay. And where can one purchase a bumper ?
The wired connection on mine is terrible, drops out every journey.
Not a patch on the AA in my Dacia which has dropped out once or twice in 25000 miles and is wireless.
Takes nearly 15 minutes to connect and then it seems to connect via Carplay so the AA comes out in a lower resolution and slightly distorted.
Jumped back in my Duster for the first time since I got my MG, what a pleasure, don't have to set the childlocks on the windows every trip, AA has connected before I pulled off the drive and without touching my phone.
Feels like getting out and walking would be quicker though
To this point (5 months or so in) I hadn't tried an ultra fast charge, basically no need to.
But I had heard of a few folks whose car wouldn't charge and it's left them stranded so thought I should try it out to make sure it all worked as expected.
My local Sainsbury's have recently installed a batch of UFC (bonus points for also being orange!) and it's close to home so although I didn't need to charge I popped in and gave it a try!
Now I know there are so many horror stories out there but it couldn't have been easier! Plugged it in, contactless payment and off it charged!
I got 91kwh charge rate from a 150kw charger and a potential 135kw capacity charge on the car, it was still going up when I had my 5min fix (and gosh charging in the wild is expensive).
Considering I started with 40% battery and I didn't pre warm it I was pretty impressed.
Other than that not much to report, range is still down in the cold weather and lots of very short local trips but I know it's better over a longer distance.
Infotainment is still irritating.

Did the costs tick up like filling up with petrol ?But I had heard of a few folks whose car wouldn't charge and it's left them stranded so thought I should try it out to make sure it all worked as expected.

If it’s 85p per KW charging at 100kw that’s like £85 an hour or £1.40 per minute !

Still cheaper per minute than petrol! (Although very similar value for money if not a bit more expensive...)If it’s 85p per KW charging at 100kw that’s like £85 an hour or £1.40 per minute !
There was a QR code to scan which showed real time how much it was but my colleague scanned it and watched and I didn't pay much attention. Would have been cool if the graphics were like a petrol pump but I don't think they were.

Chocolate Frog that particular weld/juncture is a shocker. My Trophy has done 17k miles since end of June 2023. It’s been a fantastic replacement for my LPG Duster. The LKA and radio glitch where it loses sound is a PITA though.I actually find the RWD Trophy a hoot to drive so the XPower must be ace.

Am I reading that correctly that at almost 50% charge you had just over 90 miles range?
You read that right. The official range is 238 miles. As mentioned before weather plays a big hand in how far you can go on a charge (if for nothing else the heater zaps range) and the fact that at this particular time I don't think the car has been more than a few miles for each trip it's done for a few weeks. Like in a petrol car that's not particularly economical. On longer steady trips I would expect that to climb up to 120-130 miles.
