Cheers for that, wasn’t sure what official range is.

Yeah guess-o-meter has lots of factors which affect it.
I've got over 4m/kWh on a long 60mph run so real world range is up to 240m I would guess, normal day to day driving it will be much lower though.

Honestly it's not been a problem. Over the last 5 months I think I've had 2 journeys where I have taken the petrol car because of range but it would have been easy enough to charge enroute. Those times are when you have a 2 hour drive each way (so about 90-100 miles)and I wouldn't normally stop for a break. Going in the ev would add a chunk of time having to stop for a quick charge. It's a very particular set of circumstances though...

The craftsmanship on some of the details is just exquisite hehe

Chocolate Frog that particular weld/juncture is a shocker. My Trophy has done 17k miles since end of June 2023. It’s been a fantastic replacement for my LPG Duster. The LKA and radio glitch where it loses sound is a PITA though.

I actually find the RWD Trophy a hoot to drive so the XPower must be ace.
It's not just the weld.

It's the seal that's just bent round a non-radiused corner like that rather than having a molded corner itself.

I've settled in with mine. The Duster is a better car, no question for me but I am warming to the X-Power.

My toddler ran his fingers down the door card the other day and permanently damaged it, that wouldn't happen in the scratchy Dacia.

But I've now found a wireless dongle that works almost perfectly so that's removed my main bugbear and I'm enjoying seeing how quickly I can burn through tyres, think you're allowed 3 sets per year max on my SS scheme.

Efficiency for me is somewhere around 2. Computer reckons 2.5 but my 40 mile commute uses 30% and there's charging losses to factor in too.

Yeah on mpk no point having a 435bhp hot hatch and drive as economically as possible. May as well buy a Zoe for that

The mg4 is actually pretty good at doing both. Happy potting down to kids swimming lessons, happy leaving gtr behind at the traffic lights

Boring range post alert!

As all other EV owners experience the winter brings a reduction in range. Batteries don't perform as well in the cold and the additional drain caused by heaters, wipers, lights, heated seats etc

Feels like 10 degrees ambient is a real tipping point. Below that overall range would be under 200 miles.

But this last weekend I managed this

[url=https://flic.kr/p/2pH9e9P]

So 57 miles on 20% of the battery. So if the stats are right that would put a theoretical range of over 280 miles Vs the claimed 239. Impressive stuff.

This is a journey i do pretty regularly to see family and I normally allow 1:15 to 1:30 to do it so a normal sort of speed. I wasn't trying that hard to be economical but a run up the M1 with a long section with 50mph road works obviously helped, rest of the time sticking to somewhere around 65mph with a few miles urban driving at either end.

Nice sunny day ambient temp at 14 degrees so heating was off for a lot of the journey but put on occasionally when the car misted up a little. (And no I wasn't driving in a coat).
Overall not necessarily representative of normal driving (but not far off) and probably not how you should drive a car this fast but still....

Shame I have turned into an EV bore smile

Don't know if you've driven yours in anger on B road yet.

I find the brakes woeful almost to the point you think the pads must be glazed or something. Feels OK upto what feels like 60-70% brake force but when I press past that there's almost nothing left. Even stamping on the pedal with all 115kgs illicits minimal additional retardation.

I know it's not a light car but doesn't even feel like it's worrying the ABS.

Yet I saw one did a 7m 50s (or something like that) Nurburgring time so maybe mine is broken.

I've definitely triggered the abs on mine. I did have a b road blast a couple of weeks back and can't say I noticed a lack of brakes. Not much modulation at the top of the peddle but feels like plenty after that

Just seen how cheap these are on my sal-sac scheme, bloody hell!

Shame they are SAIC / Chinese state owned. Not sure I'm that morally bankrupt quite yet... but then again 400hp for £300p/m scratchchin

Agree.
Bearing in mind they want £500 for an E Corsa !

£315 for me including insurance which is worth £800 a year

What car have you come from ?

And what mode were you driving in with what level of regen ?

Seeing some of the stuff on reddit is a bit mad.
Anyone who thinks the issues with LKA and the infotainment isystem isn’t on another or car is mad.

That would make British Leyland blush, I'd not be surprised at all if that started to leak in a couple of years. Does make you wonder what other things they've half arsed if they don't care about something so visible and obvious as door sealing.

Further impressions.

The touch screen is st. Takes about 3 prods to do anything.

The acceleration is staggering and genuine can make you and your passengers feel sick.

The lane control thing has already tried to kill me a couple of times and apparently can't be disabled permanently, you have to do it everytime you drive.

The LKA is an absolute joke. I think my Trophy knows it’s going next Monday. The radio lost sound 18 times this morning! LKA only tried to kill me or cyclists 3 times so that was nice.

A good summary! The infotainment is pretty awful, although surprisingly better on android auto which suggest software over hardware.

Lane control I have less issues than others (maybe down to type of road I drive and rarely turn it off) apparently later software updates adds a shortcut to the pulldown menu. But it has done a couple of silly things. I believe not being able to turn it off is an ncap thing and normal on all new cars? I bet someone will be able to code it out before too long....

Acceleration is rather fun isn't it....?

the lane control thing is insane, everyone absolutely hates it and is completely sick of it

some people are starting to even get them mapped out so you don't have to navigate through the menus to disable it
