ah well, each to their own, im not an m3 fan either purely because of the stigma attached to it but thought it was worth a mention because if you ignore the image problem its a hell of a car for the money... rs4 is a good shout though, good luck with whatever ya end up with!

(sends subliminal thoughts to pre-order an evo X)wink

That's a nice looking car. Not sure on the black wheels though. I prefer the silver ones you had on at the beginning of the thread a bit more "showy". Although with the black wheels it does have an air of touring car about it.

nice car, but i see so many red ones with vxr on the numberplate and i hate the vauxhall camp blue. also gotta say i hate the dash soo much, its exactly the same as my mates 1.8 vectra life that he wants rid of asap ,silver nasty plastic. lovely looking car though and it looks like the seats have had a retrim, looks very smart.also each to their own but not keen on the black wheels. bet it rips though.

gonna have a look at the focus RS once more is known & shown at the Brit motorshow or wait for the insignia VXR next year, the wife wants the astra for herself.
how come your not tempted by second hand m3 or evo9? both would be on my list if i was considering spending 25k on a car. Focus RS will be a let down from what ive heard. 300bhp and fwd with a fancy diff. when ford have the means to make it 4wd through volvo's system, hell, the mazda 3mps has the same floorpan as the focus (if Clarkson was correct) and they do a 4wd version!
Volvos AWD system is st and FWD biased, it would not be able to compete with evos and imprezas. The mazda 3 mps is FWD is a LSD. The Mazda 6 is AWD, but thats not using the same platform.

very nice car mate indeed, looks very smart with the black wheels. Think you should remove the grill hiding the IC smile Are you looking to upgrade the turbo next or you staying with the standard blower until it gives in?

finished with the power upgrades so will remain now as is and stock turbo until it needs replacement in the future, currently in having fitted a quaife diff just to finish it off and help just that bit to get the power down when powering away.

Not as bad as you maay think, top gear exaggerated things big time.

its running at around 300bhp & over 330lb/ft of torque at present and we have had it out on track a few times, the chassie is well sorted with the kw varient 3's and like any powerful fwd cars it lights up the front end when pulling out of a corners but is very easy to real back in but the quaife atb diff has just now been fitted and should help just that bit more with puting the power down, as for handling the power, my wife seems to be able to control it well putting it sidewards through roundabouts and pulling it back into line and isnt afraid to get out on track but saying that many have said she is a better driver than myself lol

yeah i must admit it does torquesteer like any powerful fwd car especially so in stock form but it wasnt aggressive ripping the wheel out of your hands, the power delivery was a bit ott in the lower gears but a simple software upgrade really sorted that with a more linear power delivery enabling you to use more of that power down low.
As for TG, pre prod car, SRi chassie, VXR engine and body, was meant to be sitting on the stage floor isntead it was put out on the track lol
Vxl fault in someways for trusting JC to begin with in the first place lol

Think there was someone on here who came across a 4wd Focus ST being tested at the ring. Seem to remember the test driver hinting it would go into production with 4wd as well. Can't find the post though so I may have just dreamt it.

quaife atb diff fitted and what a huge imrovement it has made, front end traction is amazing, still lights up the front end when dropping the throttle hard and tc off but it is pulled back into line very easily and your hurtling to silly speeds very quickly, pulling into and exciting roundabouts is the most noticeable difference, im very much impressed and totally transformed the car again.
Would have been my first mod running stock if the diff was availbale back then.
Vxl should place this on the option list!
