finally worked out how to do pictures!

bought this BMW 525i SE Touring about 6mths ago. It has a FSH, is in good nic, full leather, twin sunroof, 202,000 miles (now done 209200! biggrin ) and runs beautifully!

needed a service, needed tax, MOT nearly up and tyres almost shot.

neighbour services all including and reset the guage for £50, passed MOT and bought some E60 wheels.

all this for only £400!

what do you think...i love it

Crazy. Every time I looked at a 5 series touring they all seemed to start a 3k

sounds like you've been looking at the later models!

The E34's are usually more expensive than the saloons, but still a bargain!

Cracking looking car that is

Very nearly bought one of these last month. Then i discovered it can barely tow a fully laden crisp packet, let alone a 325 on a trailer. Shame really as they're great cars.

thanks for your kind words.

bit more info.

the car was owned as a company car for 4yrs where the owner did 100k
then a meticulous owner in reading bought it to drive to bristol a couple of times a week (amoung other things) doing 85k in 7yrs
then a South African living in Bristol bought it as his weekend car to transport him, his two mates and three bikes to the centre of Wales.he did 17k in 12months then work and winter meant he did not use it for the best part of 6mths.

saw it on ebay looking a bit sorry for itself but rang him and sounded to good to be true so went to look and low and behold it wasnt!

since i got it i have used it regularly to go to the tip aswell as a mamouth drive to accrington, cambridge, london x4 and shuttle runs between home and loughborough. last week it transported me to bristol, bath and back, then home via oxford, 400 miles, 30mpg amazing!

recently fitted a Kenwood headunit as the old Sony one was crap! Sound is amazing now, so much better, and has a AUX socket for ipod, all just £46 biggrin

the wheel upgrade was because my 15" BBS wheels had very rare tyres. far cheaper to invest in some E60 rims. looking at a 17" upgrade now smile

due another service soon and coolant change but apart from that hopefully a few more trouble free miles.

bought it to tank down to spain in but liked it so much thought id keep it and let my Cooper S have a break from doing 25,000 miles a year.

as you can maybe tell i love this car. it is so smooth, so quiet, so relaxing, so spacious. i hardly ever speed in it..its not that sort of car just waft along biggrin

testament to how well it has been looked after is 25 stamps in the service book, done every six months up until the SA chap bought it. still has the original torch, unused first aidkit, untouched toolkit.

took some finding, was looking for 4mths but proof that good things come to those who wait wink

thanks. yep off the latest (puny) 5-series models. the bog standard wheels, E60 but kinda lift this i think.

yeah did get a good deal but technically but the time i changed the wheels, taxed it and put a new MOT on it was more expensive but only gave the old owner 400 notes biggrin
