Excellent, my sisters boyfriend has one of these as his first car. Don't expect to get much more than 65mph on a dual carriageway/motorway, but they are LOTS of fun when not loaded in a damp car park wink

Oh and you can comfortably get 7 people plus the driver

Surely the insurance will be lots for a new driver, considering there could be 7 P.I. claims?

Sorry I'm late replying, Ive just been recovered from Dunstable to St.Albans after the gearbox on my Polo which I was learning to drive on went bang.

Anyway,

I got the cab from London Taxi Export LTD http://www.londontaxiexports.co.uk/ .
They can leave it as it came off the streets or can have it completly re-done, aircon, convertable, whatever.

They are setting up an owners club which will hopefully have a lower premium deal thing with an insurer and if all else fails I'll do 3rd party on it. The're all insurance group 4 so quite good.

This one which is 1995 N reg and has been recently out of service with a re-trim due to it being an Ex T-mobile liveryed (cant spell that) also was painted pink and has been re-sparayed black but you can still see come pink patches, adds charachter so I dont mind is £3500 with all stuff done such as MoT and service.
I'm having an extra flip down front seat put in, some xenon headlights, air horn, on off light for the taxi sign (dont tell anyone) and other things which ive forgotten bring it to about £4K.
You can however get them for as little as £2K and go anywhere near to £10K for full restoraton, loaded with modern stuff.

I hope to get the windows tinted in the back to almost the same darkness as the paint and put in a sound system (yes I'm 17 so have to entertain my friends). Also add some carpet and maybe chrome the front grill. I'm also leaving the T-moble ads in for fun.

Ah right I get you. Well its sitting in their yard at the moment as you can tell from the photos so not for the moment I cant, youll have to trust me wink.
I can however prove that the polo was recovered by the AA if that helps biggrin lol.

And also that the cab is an N reg...

Well done Simon an excellent choice

£4,000 on your first car at 17 is headshaking to an old fart like me but it's best to spend as much as you can afford on the best example you can get on any vehicle purchace - save some money for servicing and running repairs tho' before putting in megawatt amps and speakers

I hope you've earnt and/or saved your that money to be spending that much but whatever good luck to you

I've got one of these in storage at the moment, overseas client bought it & I collected from the cabbie who had just upgraded to a new one, its not a minter but is solid.

I got him an MOT on it, just needed little odds & sods, not right for me to say what he paid but it wasnt much ££ at all, should be seen ferrying his guests about for his french hotel in the summer.

Will the proposed mods be inspired by a Fairway featured on Dizzy Rascal's video by any chance?
