Hi all,

I just realised that after being on this site for a while (Not posting much granted, just reading quietly away in the background enjoying the views to be found on here) that I have never introduced myself or posted pictures of my motors on here.
So, with trepidation here are my two current cars that keep me mobile and entertained, no where near as exotic as what a lot of you have got but they’re mine and paid for.
My daily is this:

OK, I know I am a heathen for showing you a diesel first off but it’s my daily smoker that more than brings a smile to my face and it’s a lot better than the old Astra derv that I used to run around in. Oh, and I’m also on Briskoda under the same user name as here but again time limits me to the amount I get to post.

This is my current toy, a Leon Cupra R, again not too exotic but great fun and is treated as my summer toy, OK, I know that summer toys should be convertibles but trust me I have a face that does not sit well with roofless motoring!

And for some old pictures.
This is what I sold to get the Leon, my old e36 325 coupe, I had this for around 9 years in total, the only reason I sold it was that she was starting to get long in the tooth and was getting in need of some TLC that would have cost too much.

And before this (When I was at the ripe old age of 19) I had this, the car I miss the most, if I could get another in good condition then I would, my e30 325.

I have also been involved in servicing for my brother who up until last year was competing in the 205 Challenge with this.

Oh, and to complete my transport, when I’m feeling fit (Not very often seeing as I have knackered my back recently) I use this.

OK then, that’s about all I can think of at the moment, any questions fire away, any abuse, well, I’ve got broad shoulders.

Cheers all, MikeD biggrin

Excellent taste sir! Cars look lovely and clean, and to top it all off a tasty Sub-5. We have quite a few riders on this forum.

Fabia is a much loved car on these forums, I can see the appeal.

What is your brothers name? The t'other halves sister runs 3d Motorsport, Emily Louis who set up cars for the 205 challenge.

very nice cupra r, I am quite jealous!
Also loving the Fabia VRS, although still not sure on the look of it though.

vRS is really nice. Sold my 54-plate Furby vRS in Nov and moved to an '06 Volvo S60 D5 SE Geartronic. Totally different thing to the vRS and ticks lots of my boxes but I do miss the vRS some days. Not on long hauls, (where the S60 is superb), but punting around the nice back roads.

Maybe another - one day.

Thanks for the comments all biggrin

The Fabia was bought because for the money it was either run about in a standard Focus or Astra, the vRS appealed on so many levels, granted a bit smaller than the other cars I have mentioned but pound for pound came out as a better deal and gave more of a grin factor (as many on here have found)
Carlos (dxb335d) the Leon is totally standard, no mods done to it and to be honest though part of me says to start playing the common sense says there is no need to, its quick enough and does what it says on the tin.
Staceyb, the 205 was run by a mate (Chris Paulson) who lives in Belper in Derbyshire just down the road from Pat Flynn (205 Challenge organiser) my brother navigated for him for a good few years, Andy Dover, however they didn’t do last year and it looks like next season is in doubt due to Chris buying and renovating his new house.
They used to run this 205:

But after getting to carried away at up in Grize it ended up looking a bit worse for wear:

They then built the silver one, it doesn’t look as well sorted as the old one but is a bit more effective!

The last thing I did any navigating in was a local night event (South Wales) a few years back in this:

Rastamanblues, I am actually milling over selling off the Leon, I have had it for quite a while now, just booked it in for its 3rd year service and it has a grand total of 4000 miles on it, I think I could get away with a bit more of a silly toy with only doing that sort of mileage, decisions decisions!
Skodaku, I know what you are saying about the Fabia, its great fun for a blat about, I commute 25 mile each way to work every day, its fine for that and nippy enough but when I do take it on a long run then I know a bigger car would make a more comfortable cruiser, we will see what I go for next though I am tempted dy going the same route as you with a Volvo.

Cheers all.
