Good luck, they're bloody rare. White Saxo VTSs are far more common, or even an S2 106 Rallye. All as near as damn it the same car.

Yea they are very rare.
Would it not be easier to find a clean example of another colour and have it painted?

if you have the time and the space, it would be easier to buy a non-runner, repair/replace the compnents that need attention and re-spray it.

even the newest 205 gti is fifteen years old now so finding one in good condition is very hard, especially a low mileage example. you are very unlikely to find one with less than 100K on the clock though i suppose it depends upon your definition of low mileage.

do what i did, buy a non runner for £300 and spend less than £700 getting it up to a good standard safer in the knowledge that it wont go bang ten miles down the road. you would be hard pushed to find a car for £1000 in good condition and of a low mileage and i have uprated the brakes at the front, fitted a new exhaust, put in bucket seats and will get the engine rebuilt soon. might just go over the total £1K budget but not by much.
