Started building the race car over a year and a half ago!

Had some very difficult times getting it ready but its now done!

I first tested at Brands Hatch 3 weeks ago with a half finished car.

Have just got back from testing today and am delighted to say all is well! I havent managed to get the rear wing on yet but that is being done next week, apart from this its complete minus some stickers etc.

Managed some really quick laps today so all is looking good for this year.

Anyway here are some pictures of the car in its various stages of build. Not many unfortunatly as the build took over, followed by some at todays test day.

Thanks

Mike

Yes sprayed ouside! Not a perfect paint job but dosnt need to be.

In build is a 4.7 AJP that has been etensivly modified (No power figures yet)

Brakes are AP racing with 330mm discs up front.

It has 9x18" wheels on the front shod with 250/650r18 Slicks

The suspension is currently Gaz's offering but running very firm!

The car has been extensivly lightened and the chassis stiffened up.

Quickest time so far has been a 50.38. But without pushing to hard easily around the 52's.

Looking for sub 50's really.

Is also fast enough to be at the front end of the grid amongst the class A Race Tuscans (did only dean cook go faster than that time last time out at brands?) , not bad for a car that's only just turned a wheel! top marks.. looking forward to seeing it out on track now, I hadn't realised until it was pointed out to me the other day just how fast you had gone, blinding!! Surely a championship winning car as the pace will only get faster and you get faster as a driver thumbup Looks like class B wll be faster than class A at this rate smile

Will be racing in the Dunlop Tuscan Challenge and hopefully the Pro-Mil GT Cup.

With regards to the pace, I was very suprised at how fast we were going, hope the lap timer is working properly! Not sure how it wouldnt be though!

A 50 is fantastic if it's faster than last year's pole-sitting 51. Would be awesome if Mike parks the yellow Cerbera on pole first time out! hehe

The last time I was at Brands for a trackday in my 4.5 I was doing 53s. It was pre-remap and on old street tyres. I thought it was rubbish - lack of grip/traction and (perhaps as a result of low cornering speeds) the damned thing always felt 'in between' gears on the Indy circuit. It felt like the sort of pace that would have a Challenge car sailing past every 4 or 5 laps ...and was.

The Challenge cars used to run into the low 45s in the 'olden days' - even I peeled off a 48 the first time I went there as a rookie in 1998 and the entire grid was sub-50. What's the best time Darren Dowling has done in recent years? What's the tyre spec now?

Wouldnt have thought i would be on pole as im only in class B. Also the only tracks i have driven are snet and brands, so the others will all be a very steep learning curve. Cadwell is the first.

The challenge is obviously tvr's, Tuscan challenge cars, Griffs, chims, tasmins etc.

The Pro-mil have Ferrari's, Porshes, Marcos, Bmw's etc.
