This has really started to boil my piss.

Get your own insurance cock tard. What are you going to be doing in 2 years time when you want a better car and you still have no ncb?

What are you going to do when you become a statistic and hit something, get found out and your insurance is void?

Its cheap for a reason, it's illegal and every other mug on here is paying for people like you.

I hope you prang it and get found out and get nothing in return, I really do.

piss officially boiled

Not actually sure that matters - are your parents going to be driving your car at all?

On all my car's I have always been a named driver up until last year, why spend £2k when you can get away with £700? Surely its up to the person themselves if they want to take the risk, I personally have had no problem claiming when I had a accident early on, the insurance payed up straight away.

Best thing though 4 years later I have 4 years no claims as Elephant give full no claims to the named driver aswell! smile

I don't think the issue regarding a fronted policy is with the person who will get nothing when they crash their car, I couldn't give a toss about them losing everything and not getting a pay out. The issue is with the fact that if they hit you, you are essentially being hit by an uninsured driver.

If my car gets damaged by one of these types, they would walk home with a limp.

SXi Lad, fronting isn't very clever. And admitting it on a public forum even less so... Congrats on your birthday, but it really would be a lot more intelligent to get your own insurance. Maybe as another bit of your pressie?

Aren't Elephant NCB different to everyone elses? I looked at getting a policy with them a while ago but found out they have a NCB 'accelerator scheme' whereby you get a NCB after 10 months. Great. Except the only insurers to accept these 10mnth NCBs are Elephant, so you are stuck.

As I said Im a learner and Im making sure my mum uses it more while she is the policy holder, once I pass which Im hoping will be round christmas time, I am exchanging the policy into my name. Happy? Because Im not risking getting caught

Nope the 10 month accelerator is a completely different policy, I have since moved from Elephant and taken my no claims discount elsewhere without a hitch

No point in insulting him over it, it happens all the time! I would say that about 60% of new drivers are 'fronting'. I even done it myself when I was 17 (and no, I have no problem admitting that on a public forum, blah blah blah..)

He thinks Im a chav and Im going to ruin my car, well guess what I aint only thing I will ever do to it will be to get a hi fi system built into it and new alloys once Iv got a job and earning enough money. Question- why would anyone want to put lexus lights on a SXi which already comes with decent headlights/

Sorry this was a joke and i forgot to add the smiley.

I was a teenager only a few years ago so please don't preach.

Sorry if i offended anybody, boredom got the better of me.

Nice first car, but please get your own policy...

This is my corsa SXi 1.2, which I love to bits, considering its my first car I feel kind of lucky compared to my friendslaugh. The steering is amazing, but the handling I wouldnt say was any better.
Here is a pic of my corsa

alloys are pritty wrecked but Im going to buy new ones once I get some money
Lucky is a fecking understatement pal.

I hope you are more grateful than being kind of lucky.

The car will look better if you Refurb the wheels you have.

I was on my mums policy for just over a year. I passed my test when I was nearly 19 and got my own policy when I was 20. I waited till I was 18 before I started to drive as I didn’t feel like I was mature enough to drive a car. These 2 thing (waiting till I was 18 and being on my mums policy) must have saved me over £3000. 2 weeks after I got my first policy I had my first crash, when my renewal came through my insurance had actually gone down as I had turned 21. The only regret I have is not doing my pass plus, this would have saved some extra pennies but I hated my instructor and didn’t want to see him ever again.

I do like your Corsa though. I agree with what some of the others have said, don’t bother with the alloys, take that money and put it in a savings account and put it towards your next car. Also, don’t spend a lot on a stereo, get a cheap eBay head unit with MP3 compatibility, leave the standard speakers in and pocket the difference. Already I have saved you £700 which is halfway way to a nice E36 323.

I like this - saying that fronting is normal and loads of people do it doens't make it any less illegal.

You could equally avoid spending £5000 by stealing all your groceries, or by robbing a post office.

If you get away with it, fine, if you don't then expect to face the consequences - the fronting bint thread springs to mind!
