Hi all,

Managed to get a picture of both of my Giugiaro-penned babies together at last!

I've posted pictures of the 'grale up before, but the mk1 is fresh from restoration! I bought her back in january and have been working on it every spare minute I have.

It was bought as an abandoned 16v conversion project, but as well as needing the wiring sorting the body also required attention. as I bought it:

And here's a few pics of the build:

And a couple of how she looks now, taken earlier today at 'the triangle':

The final build spec is: Standard bodywork/trim, soundproofing removed, 2 seats+harnesses, no stereo, 1.8 16v 'KR' engine, 720mm bar/plate rad, slimline rad fan, ashley 4-1 manifold, supersprint R-Series zorst, G60 brakes, new G-max suspension all round, all new steering/suspesion components, poly bushes throughout, new G60 wheels & Proxes T1-R tyres, relocated battery.

To say this car is fun to drive is an understatement!!!! It's just so light and chuckable! It's pretty capable at the mo, however there are still many shortfalls to address so there's much more to come nuts

I've also been pretty busy with the lancia this year, so here's a few recent shots:

Before:

During:

After:

And after some nice new suspension:

Enjoy! biggrin

P.s. All the work undertaken to both cars was done by me! smile I have a very understanding girlfriend haha

Love the Delta's engine, and that Golf looks like a hoot to drive! Weighing as little as a Lotus Elise, and with similar power I can only imagine it's fun and fast.

Cheers fellers!

The golf does go very well in fact; power-to-weight is estimated to be (currently) around 185bhp per ton, so yes about the same as an elise.

In fact, the mk1's weight advantage has lead me to the very tough decision to sell the Lancia in favour of further developing the golf for track/sprints... It will be hard to let her go, but I feel i've experienced a propper stint of Intergrale ownership; warts 'an all!!! haha evil

Believe me, it's nowt but hard work and commitment! There were some very stressed periods where I thought i'd never complete either. May time was the worst; the 'grale had no engine and the golf was a bare, but painted shell and the sun was shining (well, sort of haha). I did manage to get some summer motoring in though in Lanci.

I have to be honest and say I feel like I bit of more than I could chew! But, head down and get on with it... It's a huge sense of achievement at the end though! Next year i'll be sticking to just the one project (mk1 development) and i'm going to enjoy lots of driving driving

Well in all honesty the Integrale is my fave, just because it has sooo much as a car (herritage, griiiiiiip, noise etc..). I always loved watching them as a kid, so has always been on the dream car list cool

If money was no object, I would deffinately be keeping it and developing it for the track. However, I have to face facts and get some cash piled up for a house purchase (obviously the cost's to do this to the mk1 are much, much less).

That's not to say I don't love the mk1 too! The more I drive it, the more it gets under my skin. Even though I'll be gutted when the Lancia does change hands, I'll still be a very happy man with the mk1 biggrin

BTW; all being well, the 'grale should be on display again in '09 at the PH show thumbup

both very nice3, one question does your Lancia work ok with the air filter located right behind the intercooler, mines got a longer intake pipe and a metal divide to keep hot air away from the air filter.

just a thought, also does the tubular manifold make much difference, what other mods do you have, i think that may be my next upgrade, currently got emprom upgrade, dual cone air filter, 65mm exhaust, FE springs, high back seats 17inch speedlines, as per the pic, so circ 280bhp but did not know if the manifold would make much of an improvement?

anyway nice pair!!!!!
