Well actually no you can't there illegal for road use in the uk in that type face. They also look a bit poo so would take them off.
ideaNow go away, do your research. idea

i suggest you do this : read

YOU ARE WRONG !

Currently, as the law on number plates stands, checked with VOSA, they have suspended the law regarding the symbols (blue D badge) and the postal code and BSUA number. These have been suspended as of Nov 2007.

My numberplates conform the the current VOSA number plate legislation.

The are in a plain font, refective and a minimum of 40mm wide letters (except the letter I or 1)

Your entitled to you opinion of my numberplates, but PLEASE stop posting DIS-information about the law on plates.
Or just STFU about you inaccurate crap and start your own "dis-information" thread rolleyestongue out
Not legal - they need to be in a font called 'Charles Wright 2001' whereas yours appear to be in the German FE-Schrift font which is not legal on UK registered cars.

I don't care, post what you like.
The police HQ local to me took photos, e-mailed VOSA - they then called me an hour or so later....They are fine as the letter of there handbook stands WITH the current exceptions inplace.
No need to throw your teddies out of the pram, just telling you how it is. If I saw the car with those plates on when I was on duty I'd offer you the chance to change them before resorting to a ticket. The plates are NOT legal. Anything other than the font it had on the original plates is not legal I'm afraid.

Your cars really nice by the way.

The fact that you claim VOSA are happy with it means it may not fail an MOT. If the DVLA are not happy with it you will get prosecuted. Even VOSA have now changed the requirement to pass an MOT you need the correct font;

http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosacorp/newsandevents/pres...

The DVLA say your plate is illegal with your current font;

http://www.dvla.gov.uk/media/pdf/leaflets/inf104.p...

It's the DVLA you need to worry about, not VOSA, but then you appear to know the law better than serving police officers, perhaps you would be willing to listen to the people who make and sell german style plates for UK registered cars who also confirm they are illegal;

http://www.german-number-plates.com/law

Perhaps you could give them a call and tell them they are wrong?

mmmmm that post smells of a bit of a retraction,

Anyway there is no doubt in my mind that they are not legal. However if i stopped you it would be unlikely that i would give you a ticket, maybe some words of advice, maybe a VDRS. However if you were a drug dealer or other criminal and i stopped you with plates like that you would get a ticket and i would seize the plate as evidence to piss you off as much as possible.

Thats how policing should be done i think! dont harass normal people too much but give as much grief as possible to real criminals

roflroflroflrofl

You are such a liar. In your OP which you've now deleted, you said you originally had the german road tax and build stamps on but you removed them because you didn't like them and if these are your 'show plates' why did you contact VOSA to check if they were road legal? Oh yeah, I forgot, after reading and replying to the thread several times you suddenly realised they were your 'old show plates' on your new car. . . . . . . . priceless level of bullsh!t! Classic. hehe

Why do we bother?, perhaps to save you 30 quid!!. What would you rather happen, a quick bit of advice on here or a lecture at the side of the road from a Police Officer and a ticket?.

No need to get so pissy about it,...jesus!. rolleyes

Wont bother next time!
