Okay I confess I have a fetish for E34s. A couple of you on here have spoken to me recently about yours for sale - thank you again for your time. This is the one I went for having missed the 63k miler.

It's done 111k, has had a few bits of suspension etc replaced, good service history, drives nicely and has a Torqueflow stainless system which sounds like Brian Blessed being hoofed in the knackers. Hence the car is called Brian.

Has climate and electric seats, a coffee table in the front and original toolkit and torch.

I have no plans to modify it but will fix a few things - light control mod on the way out but have sourced another cheaply (will solder this one afterwards). Service lights don't work but history fine so will put on to-do list. Bodywork has a couple of small blemishes and leather has one scuff on back seat. It's a toy and a late boyhood dream and my first V8 smile

It may have belonged to a PHer, it was traded for an M5. Cost me £1750 from a dealer.

Great car. Looks in lovely condition and I love that it's debadged!

However, I am a sucker for having contemporary wheels on a car and I think those are from an e60.

You could sell them on ebay and buy some 17 inch multispokes. Here they are on an 8 series:

Also, I don't think the BMW badge beside the gearstick is original.

I quite like the wheels so will contemplate over time. That horrid sticker on the coffee table won't last long tomorrow!

Nice one!

It was just IMHO about the wheels. The ones you have do look good.

It must sound superb!

I like "IMHO", gives me ideas smile

Really does sound like Brian Blessed, sound clip here from one the same, although I believe mine still has his centre box. It's lovely rumbling along biggrin

It looks very nice but can I just ask:

£1750 for a 111k mile, 16 year old, V8 5 series?

Is that not a bit steep considering there was a, IIRC, 02 plate 520 on the Mannheim auction thread for £2600?

Fair question smile

It's about the going rate tbh having looked around for a while. 63k miler near me was £2250. Others for sale work out about the right price.

I much prefer the E34, lots of character and old school build quality biggrin

I thought that was a great price for such a lovely car. Agreed too about the character of the E34.

Good man! Excellent choice of barge.

I have had my 540i Touring since the beginning of this year and it has been excellent, mine too had 111,000 when I picked her up, she is now about to hit 122,000 and so far I've had no problems. She is due her MOT next month and will require a set of front tie bar bushes, but other than that has been happy wafting.

I wish you many miles of great mooching!

Have just wafted back along the M4 at a steady 75mph, 29mpg and such comfort. The exhaust is somewhat, er, throaty and in town people do look to see what exotica is rumbling by. IT'S ME biggrin

Mother was following in her KA and thought there was something wrong with it. Then realised it was me making lots of noise in front wink

Now the cleaning and list of little jobs can begin. Oh and skinning my knuckles replacing the micro-filter!

Utterly relaxed of Bristol cloud9

Very nice, looks unmessed with apart from the wheels.

Keep it original and serviced can only appreciate in value!!

I had a 530i manual, one of the best cars ive ownen and toured France in it. Very well built, After France mine made my mates brand new Saab feel cheap, rattly and tinny by comparison!!
