That is spot on and a am not normally a fan of 5doors but would definately not knock it for its doors when it has a charged VR6.

Are you with the VR6OC? i recall seing a car looking very simlar at one of the rolling road days at Powerstation in Gloucester but that was over a year ago.

I still cant believe how many people who still come out with the " i bet it drives st with a heavy VR lump in the front' the corrado VR6 is reputed to be one of the best handling FWD cars you can come accros especially given its age yet as soon as the same engine is put in a hatchback version of the same shell people think it is too heavy. Its il informed balls!

are you running a solid front engine mount - they really help get the angle of the engine right and prevent it leaning back. There is a bloke who makes them on the MK2VR6 owners club.

Cheers for the compliments

Running solid Vibratech engine mounts, yeah. Eibach ABRs and coilovers help with the handling and having owned a 16v (40mm lowered) this one sticks to the road like an Elise biggrin Like you say a VR^ Corrado is the same basic car (but heavier coachwork)

Not on the VR6OC but I should join I guess. Need to find fellow Z-Engineering owners.

Raceland manifold and a powerflow (4 box!) exhaust, G60 arches on the front to disguise-ish the wider track and a nice highline leather interior but with the 5 doors it is a real sleeper. Especially as the cams make for a lumpy idle..

supercharged VR with a induction kit, 6 branch and lumpy cams - i bet it sounds glorious. lick

From what i understand until recently when people started learning toward the Rotrex charges the only option available were Z engineering ones. Z engineering are now called VF Vortech so you will find a lot of people refering to the VF range of chargers which are in fact very similar to what you have. Your kit must have been fitted a few years back.

Im assuming from your power figures of circa 300Whp you must have at least the stage 2 kit.

As I understood it Zurich Engineering are now RUF Kompressoren;

Vortechs use a sump oil tap whereas Z-E's have a self-contained oil reservoir; I thought they're 2 different companies?

I had a 16v before and this drives better. Quite apart from the faintly ludicrous bhp/tonne and the 3-inch-wider track it's lowered on coilovers and runs Eibach ARBs, corners like a dream with no understeer or dramatic oversteer, just the very controllable rear-wheel-cocked go-kart feel of the Mk2. This isn't a VXR8 engine in a Mk2 Astra, if you see what I mean smile

The Corrado's always managed with the VR6 and that's essentially the same car as mine - Mk2 chassis, Mk3 engine and front end, mechanically.

Hugely fun biggrin

Can't wait to get it on the track..

Power steering, yup.

I built my mk2 vr6 to use on track, partly to dispel all the internet myths that a mk2VR6 will flip over @ the sight of a corner.

Great car you have there.

I've already noticed your car GVK, very tidy Golf there, love it.

The NS bracket for the VR6 rad on mine blocks where the inner headlight would fit on the original grill on mine, very annoying. Much prefer original red-lined grill on it.

Ran it up Santa Pod yesterday, was slow (got home and found the plugs were fouled, so more fuel system work needed..)

Nice looking car you have there. (although i am atlas grey biased!!)Are you using the mk3 tank, pump and lines? I used to rn the valver setup but noticed a marked improvement once I fitted the mk3 vr bits.

Hmm, I have wondered whether it can keep up - definitely original tank and I think original lines, is it a huge job to swap them out?

Nice looking motor, lovely colour smile

Cheers! It took me a couple of hours to change. drop the 16v pump down and the vr fuel filter will bolt up in its place, then its a case of running the fuel lines through to the front and splicing the 4 (i think)wires to the fuel pump as the plugs are diffent shapes.

Mine used to choke a bit towards the top end, now revs cleanly to the limiter, also does away with the valver pump so is quieter on tickover
