Nice to see another ST! The mountune kit is a good buy.. I know a couple guys with the 185kit and they love it.

Get it down on some eibach's... Makes it a TOTALLY different car!

Like these little Fords and think they work well in white, the side decals work well on the fiesta and focus, the viper stripes are quite literally over the top IMHO
I originally wanted it without the OTT stripes but the dealer gave me two weeks to decide if i wanted them on or off, ive got kinda attached to them now.

I know they look a bit essex boy but cars certainly do move out of the way.

Hmm may get them off in the future.

Bit of an update here!

Ive had the ST about 5 months now and im loving it, recently fitted a new air filter and it seems a little more responsive but im also finding my right foot is alot heavier!

Currently averaging 28 at weekends and then around 34-36 during the week driving to work!

Today is the day to remove the stripes... I pulled up outside a fairly nice restaurant the other day with the girlfriend and then when inside one of her mates said "who's is that chavvy car outside", ive had far too many of those comments recently, so they are coming off.

Looking at just removing the OTT stripes and leaving the sides on.

I saw an ST Fiesta at a garage with no stripes at all and it looked very subtle indeed, there would be no chav comments at all then, unless it was facing the restaurant the first thing people will see is the side stripes!

I think they had walked past it on the way in, then at a mates party someone else said that chavvy car out the front is blocking me in irked

Hairdryer it is then! Im thinking about colour coding the side stripes in gunmetal and getting the alloys referbed and sprayed the same.

Sounds like you are enjoying the car!

Mine's for sale now, I just have to own a rear drive V8 and since I've also got a 205 GTI there isn't room for an ST as well, I'll be sad to see it go though.

Well its finally happened!

Ive got a thread going on detailing world also so will just link that and post a few photos here!

http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.p...

Just need to finish it off tomorrow, clay, wax and polish it and hopefully that should remove the stripe marks.

just needs lowering slightly, don't know why these come so high from the factory.

Some Eibach springs will sort that out smile

Quick picture of what mine used to look like

Very nice!
I can get some eibachs for £110 but I presume this will make the ride even stiffer than it already is.
Totalled up some bits for 190/200 bhp earlier £1800 but whether or not I will is another question

Not as bad as you think. Then again anything compared to the Gaz coilovers I used to have is luxury ha.

Best mods you can do is the air filter and full exhaust with a remap, should see you at about 170/180bhp. Sadly with the lack of 6th gear though it does make things a tad droney on the motorway.

Edited post, trouble with FST is that it just spins the front wheels, this takes it's toll on the gearbox and diff and it just let's go! £800 for a recon gearbox! Plus labour and I had a clutch at the time also. loved my ST big time but after that I found myself questioning the build quality

If you drive like a moron perhaps, you don't have to spin the wheels do you?

That's what I was thinking. What about all the other high power front wheel drive cars that are easy to spin the front wheels on? Not heard of those knackering the gearbox and diff.
My Astra VXR was much easier to spin the wheels on, but it rarely ever happened.

Rumours of the fiesta ST having a weak gearbox during testing, apparently according Tina
colleague 180bhp was planned but the gearbox kept giving up....not sure it's true I just speak from experience.

Erm, sorry but i think that looks ridiculous. Far too low, the suspension looks broken.

Plus i know a lot of people who work at Ford, who spent hundreds of hours tuning the ride and handling of that very car. It annoys me when people think they can improve it by dropping it 40mm.

Madness.

I agree. I think that there needs to be a 'rightness' about the relationship between wheel and arch. I'm struggling to articulate what I mean, but hopefully this will demonstrate:

The Z4 looks great as the radius of the wheel follows the radius of the arch. The Fiesta just looks like the suspension's broken.
