They drive extremely well with firm suspension and excellent steering and traction from it's ATB box.A very well sorted car 'out of the box', the brakes (Brembo) are again superb.Very pleased with it and quite a rare sight on the roads.

Still a very nice looking design even after a few years I must say.

How do you like the new one ?

Don't. You won't want yours afterwards.
Seriously. Don't drive the new one if you've only just bought this one and you're not looking to change.

Back to yours: It looks lovely.

When these came out I went to see and drive one and I wasn't impressed and to this day I've not owned one as a "keeper" (I had one for 3 days rolleyes )

Now though, the more I see them the more I want one. Yours is the second one I've seen on here in the last few weeks and they are really growing on me.
(I think the other guy is called ChappeRS? if you want to dig up his thread)

Good luck with it and keep us updated on it please?

Thanks for the input but i'd love to try the new RS, i do think the FRS MK1 will remain popular and will eventually become a classic due to it's rarety being only available in one colour (Imperial blue) and one spec unlike the newer RS.

Very nice Focus, really like the RS and strangely, well at least in Bournemouth, there seem to be becoming more popular confused

That's very nice I've seen 3 around here, every time I see one it makes me seriously consider adding it to the growing list of cars I'm thinking of purchasing for my next car for my 21st.

Very nice. Have your wheels been powder coated?

I think they're becomming more popular/common everywhere.
With the Mk2 RS coming out, there are a lot of Mk1 owners selling up to buy the new one.

Hi Blukoo yes my alloys have had a refurb, apart from this the car is standard.
Not too sure if they are becoming more 'common' as only a little over 2000 where UK and a fair few have been written off due to various reasons, so infact the are becoming rarer.Perhaps there is more interest in them prior to the UK launch of the MK2 RS? Around 70 For sale at the mo on PH classifieds!

I've owned 2 CTRs in the past.Great cars imo but why did Honda not fit LSD as standard? Costs i think, the domestic Jap version had it as standard.

Okay, well maybe common wasn't the correct word to use (especially since my dad just wrote his one off a few months ago), but they're definately being used more often. I know of a couple of young guys who have just bought RSs. Originally they were probably only out on nice sunny/dry days (like my dads), but since they've become cheaper, they're nothing but hot hatches to these guys, so they get used every day instead of being tucked up in a garage.

The reason i asked about the wheels was because a few weeks before my dad rolled his RS, he had his wheels powder coated and they came back a slightly different shade to the centre caps too. Not very noticable, but he toyed with the idea of getting the centre caps power coated and getting new RS stickers for them. Good thing he didn't bother though. It would have been a waste of even more money.

Anyway, i hope you enjoy the car. They really are great. Especially once you tweak a little more power out of them.

Very smart indeed! I came very close to buying one a few years ago, but ended up getting a 147 GTA instead.

Not sure if you have seen this, but here is a great video of left foot braking in a Focus RS with Chris Harris:
