nice.

get some BBS CH's for it.

tempted to chop my ibiza in for an S3, but think they have aged really badly in comparison...
Aged really badly?

Rose tinted glasses aside... i think they still look pretty damn good, they so much nicer than all the 'in your face styled' new generation hot hatches. The S3 blends into the background, then comes flying past smile
personal taste.

but yes, comapred to the mkII S3, they have aged badly.
Not sure on that JB, I think they have aged incredibly well!
i think my ibiza has aged better. its 8yrs old and stonechips aside still looks as moody as when it rolled off the production line.

I disagree. Well, not disagree because I think the Ibiza still looks good, but I think the post facelift S3 (MY01 on) looks like an understated and still quite classy car. Not fresh of the production line but has aged well.

Currently happy with the K04.

I'll do FMIC and remap first (APR) and might update to a Stage 3 with GT28RS and injectors with stand alone engine management when I feel like it gets too slow for me.

nice. should see 270bhp?

i'm stuck with a K03 on mine, so i can either upgrade to a K03s or jump straight to an IHI conversion.

The old shape S3/A3 looks much less dated than the newer model!

Down pipe and high flow cat now fitted.

Also chucked on a new rear silencer that isn't very silent.

With the cams fitted it burbles at idle and does not sound like a 1.8.

Very nice car indeed, some great mods. how does it feel with the down pipe fitted? It's the most restrictive part of the exhaust so it should give a nice improvement.

I've got the same engine fitted in my Cupra R, its such a tunable engine.

You'll love the remap, it transforms the car. I've got a atage 1 AMD map and im over the moon with it. The peak figures they claim only tell half the story its how much more power and torque you have in the mid range that really makes the difference.

With all the mods you have already done the remap will be very effective.

Keep up the good work

The downpipe made a pretty big difference. Was amazed actually.

Just working out whether to go REVO or APR on the remap, then just have to get around to paying for it.

Cheers mate. Appreciate the kind words.

Still running them, but pretty sure I'm going to take them off. Destroy a bit too much of the driveability.

I have after dyno prints, but nothing prior to getting them done.

just interested to see what they have done for you, as cams is not a common mod to the 20VT back in the UK, people usually leave them alone unless breaking the bottom-end rebuild barrier.

I only had them done thanks to VVT chain tensioner going - top end was off and my mechanic had them just gathering dust. I wouldn't bother otherwise tbh. The downpipe gave me a much better gain.
