The £75 Mk2 Golf CL 4+E
Discussion
BelperJim, I found the grille on ebay.
I haven't done any work to the Golf since I last updated this thread as I've been concentrating on my Beetle. In fact I had let it decay quite badly. It was filthy, faded pink, plastics grey etc...
The fantastic news is that the Golf passed another MOT last week requiring nothing but headlamp alignment. Not bad for a £75 car.
As a treat I gave it a full clean, polish, wax and detail:
All done by hand today so I'm properly knackered!

A great thread
Keep up the good work and progress reports, I used to have a 1.3 mk2 and did similar cosmetic alterations inc mk1 wheels, GTI twin lamp grille, GTi arches etc.
A great car.

I love it when a car is rescued! You have done a great job, and I like how you have kept it relatively standard looking, instead concentrating on getting the paint work up to scratch and the car running well. Too many young 'uns just stick on tat that looks awful.
Mind you, when I was 18 I thought my 997cc 106 looked great with headlight eyebrows
